I recently bought a turbo'd M3 and have been slowly going over the car cleaning it up and fixing short cuts what what not. I haven't used Tial WG's before so I was reading up on it and they say to leave the top port open if you aren't using a boost controller, if you are using one you connect the top port to the boost solenoid. Now Tial's diagram shows a vent in the vacuum line running from the top port to the solenoid but it is not set up like that on the car, it's just a solid hose. I went and looked at pics of other peoples installs and I did not notice a vent in their lines either. Is anyone here running it with a vent in the line? I have the AEM Tru-Boost hooked up to it if that matters. Just kind of curious why I'm not seeing them run like the diagram says to.

I emailed Tial but they haven't responded yet, figured I'd make a post in the mean time.

Thanks.

It's called an exploded diagram.
The vent isn't necessary in the line, but more like between the waste gate and the boost controller.
NOW! most boost solenoids, and manual ball and spring type boost controllers have a vent port or hole. This allows the actuator/diaphragm to not bind when off boost.

So the vent is there you're just not looking in the right place.
So again I said most not all, so look again with this newly acquired information.

There is the sintered muffler on the AEM solenoid but I am not sure if that's what it's there for or not, I'm thinking not. If so cool, if not then there is nothing vented between the two.

Thanks for the reply.

Here, take a look at this diagram. It's a more detailed version of the one you posted. It helped me understand it better:
