Alright so I have a T25 that im putting on this weekend. Thats all fine and dandy, I have Sr20 injectors as well as a walbro 255l fuel pump. Now My question is, If I put the injectors on and the fuel pump on without a tune, how rich will I be running? I dont know anyone around the area that can tune it for me so im kind of stuck. Another thing, would it be a good idea to just leave the stock injectors and stock fuel pump on there with the turbo installed? Noob questions but I couldn't find an answer. :aw:

DON'T RUN THE CAR WITHOUT A TUNE!!!

You NEED a tune to drive the car, PERIOD. If you don't have a tune then don't install the turbo. You can't do that. An ECU is one of the most important parts of your turbo "kit". I have heard good things about the RS-Enthalpy tunes. They'll ship you an ECU tuned for YOUR setup ready to go out of the box. Don't be a retard, get an ECU...

Seriously, not to come off as a dick, but if you can't afford a tune, whether it's a ROM tune or a full blown standalone.
you should not be boosting your car.

SAFC is garbage, the only way id ever touch one of those is if i were to fine tune a rom tune.

you think your broke now, just wait until you blow up your motor because you were to cheap to get a decent tune.
The tune will make or break how long you motor lives.

Oh well, just my little rant. Learn from other peoples mistakes and do it right the first time. Even if you have to wait a month to save up the extra dough.

No no I need to hear this lol. Your from Canada? Do you do tunes? Im across the pond, Detroit. I dont know anyone that tunes ECU's around here so Im kind of stuck.

Yes if from Western Canada, no i don't do tunes. Im sure there are a few shops in southern Ontario that do tunes.
Seriously, if you are strapped for cash and want to boost your car. Go with a ROM tune.

KA-T.org has a crap ton of information on ka-t's, all you have to do is search.

Wait until you have enough money for a tune/all supporting mods/ miscellaneous costs (extra, couplers, bolts, fluids, ect.) Its not worth building it now then have to rebuild it later on or not being able to afford a needed part.

honestly man just like what these guys above are saying just wait till you have the money to get the tune, my friend had put on a turbo kit on his hatch with no tune and blew his motor.... its not worth it

The Enthalpy ECU's are only like $350 with shipping and everything. That's pretty cheap. The bottom line is that if you don't do it right, you're going to burn a nice fat hole in one of the pistons. Remember, you're boosting an engine that was never designed for boost. You have to dot all your "i's" and cross all your "t's" to get it to last.

Call them. A buddy of mine just bought an ECU for a KA-T from them and he told me he paid much less.

I second R.S. Enthalpy. Martin's tune are top notch. I'm running his rom-tune on my SR right now and it runs perfect. He's flying here from Florida to dyno-tune an Enthalpy sponsored Pro-am car along with mine to fine tune the rom tune.

Another option would be JWT rom tune. I haven't had any experiences with these guys but I heard they are up there as well.

I have RS too on my ka-t with a t3 turbo and 650cc injectors and bc264s at 11 pounds. Tune is spot on! I would definitely also recommend them

That doesn't sound correct... I paid 300 shipped for my enthalpy ecu for T25/28 370cc and N60 MAFS. It was a used one but I believe he has some (or one) for sale in the used section for that price. If you absolutely have to put in the turbo for whatever reason, keep stock injectors, stock MAFS, but stay the hell out of boost until you get your tune and upgraded parts (MAFS and injectors).

Knowledge is power. If you want to do things on the cheap. Invest in a book by Motorbooks Workshop: How to calibrate and tune Engine management systems....or something like that.

Read up on it. and you will realize just how important stand alones are, and why you should save for one.

Keep searching, I picked up a used Jim Wolf ECU for my ka for $150. Even if it's not tuned to your specs they will retune for $100.
