sounds fun, but ill be at Indy for the F1 race... i worked at a track event this weekend, i ran tech and paddock. fun stuff, plus, i get a free event for every time i work! :) it was down at Roebling Road in Savahna, it was a fun track. each group got about 90 minutes of track time a day. im not sure of the exact price though, i think it was around $200 a day though, maybe less. i would have drivin in the event but i spun a rod bearing at the last autoox (went out a quart low, damn, that was dumb!! :() and im working on putting a new motor in the car now. oh and btw, if you'd like to check out the event i worked for, its Seat Time, www.SeatTime.com

:eek2: :wtc: Dude, that'd be so awesome! :hyper:

I wish I could go :duh:

I'm still shooting for summit in july or maybe mid ohio in august :D

04-12-2004, 08:39 AM
damn! i wanna go! that's not the same event russ was trying to setup as a meet is it? either way, i gotta see if i can whip up the funds. VIR drained my wallet ;)

04-12-2004, 08:53 AM
no, not the same meet.. the one Russ is going to is an open track day.. not really organized with classrooms, and instructors like this one will be.

Allen will be there too. :)

Too far this year. One day though...

04-16-2004, 05:37 PM

Ill be there for drift atlanta this month whoooo whoooo!! :lockd:

04-18-2004, 03:12 PM
w00t! company! yeah!

what class are you in Dave?

04-20-2004, 05:19 AM
F both ya. ;) Road Atlanta's on my list with Mid-O, Laguna, the Glen, and a rental car run on the Nurburgring.

I really just had to reply so that I could register my shock that people would want to drift there. Those walls are notoriously hungry for cars! Way too close for drifting, imho.

04-21-2004, 07:35 AM
i'll be there but not to drive, just to watch and film :hsdance:

04-21-2004, 07:40 AM
Arrg.. I can't believe I have to wait 2 more months for this.

Good thing is it gives me time to get the roll bar in. :)

04-21-2004, 08:31 AM
yah, ill be at Roebling Road in exactly a month, May 21st... w00t!! :)

04-23-2004, 09:00 AM
yeah drift atlanta tomorrow! yeah road atlanta is such an awesome track. can't wait to see some 240s there for drifting and track days.

04-23-2004, 07:03 PM
i think i'm gonna be able to register for this after all :) still trying to figure everything out, but most likely going

i have a question. i need to register with nasa to enter the event. which class do i fall into? hpde1 or hpde2? i got signed off at vir at the mazda drivers event, so does that mean i'm eligible for hpde2?

04-24-2004, 03:51 PM
I'm in hpde 1. If you count the length of your wait for a track day in pay days, it seems like its gona be here in no time! :)

would it be a bad idea to have old azenis in the rear and fresh kuhmo mx in the front? I may not be able to put a full new set on, but I have to do 2.

04-25-2004, 05:42 PM
i guess i'll just go into hpde 1 then.

yea i'm definitely going to register this week. i'm sure i can get the money together before pay day (friday).

04-26-2004, 09:01 AM
sweet! more bodies! we're gonna have quite the crew out there.

Everybody using the Hondatech discount?

Ukann - Hpde 1 is definately were you should be.

Dave - Put them on before the event, and drive around, and see how they feel on the front. More than likely you'll be fine, but it would be a good idea to test them out before you got on track and see how they act.

fyi - I'm bringing a 12x12 easy up, so we will have a little shade.

04-26-2004, 09:09 AM
chimp when you gonna start instructing? lol I wanna go! havent been on a track in years. I just found vid of last time I was on RA back in 01 lol still had the ol KA back then and the worldsports were a week old lol

04-26-2004, 09:17 AM
HAHA.. awesome. KA ROCKS! lol

I can't wait to become an instructor. It'll be a bit. gotta get some more events under the belt, and get through the instructor training courses. I'm hoping in the next 1-2 years. :)

04-26-2004, 10:38 AM
hahaha I know right. thats whats gonna kill me. the wait untill I get enough experience to get out of HPDE 1 and signed off. I ran the novice group at RA that time and we couldnt pass at all. really sucked sometimes. by the third session I was getting bored.. but I ended up in a group of C5s... that was fun :)

04-26-2004, 08:59 PM
what hondatech discount? good thing i didn't sign up yet, hehe. i'll be doing that this week for sure.

steeles, you should come. no excuses there, hehe. yea the only thing about the novice groups is that you run with some pretty slow ppl. should've seen some of the ppl at vir... just but still... can't complain. track time is track time :)

04-27-2004, 11:56 AM
well I'll probably be there regardless long as the cars running

04-28-2004, 12:13 PM
Wow, I don't even know if I'd go if there weren't passing zones. RA has atleast 2 straights that even 16yr old noobs could safely pass on. Hopefully we'll get to pass on all 3 straights in HPDE 1.
Steeles, was that track day with NASA?

RA :rawk: can't wait to see you all there.

04-28-2004, 09:50 PM
no passing would suck BAD. I would always be pulling into the pits for space.

I can't wait.. All this pictures of the Formula D event there last weekend have got me itchin'

04-29-2004, 08:08 AM
DSC - hmmm I dont remember offhand. I think it was speedtrials... its been a few years, im old memory isnt what it used to be.. lol.

05-02-2004, 10:07 AM
well it looks like i'm in :) i'll be seeing you guys in june! can't wait!

05-02-2004, 12:49 PM
Damn you guys! Me and the wife will be going to VIR Full that weekend. RA is just to far to drive to pull it off (especially with the EVO that drinks gas like like fat girls in a sauna) Hope you guys have fun

Mark - you should come run the full course with us. MDA realized that the Comfort Inn is a better idea this time!

05-02-2004, 10:47 PM
yea, the drive to RA is far, but i think this is my best chance of going there with other 240 ppl. more fun that way. the drive there won't be a problem, it's the drive home i'm worried about... but oh well... did the same thing at the convention last summer, haha.

didn't y'all stay at the comfort inn? don't you mean sleep inn? that's where mark and i stayed at.

05-03-2004, 12:20 PM
Ukann.., put HONDATECH as your "sponsor" or something like that.. it used to be "Team name" You have to do it under your nasa profile I think. It's 10% off.
