I decided to put this thread in this subforum for those who are versed on fire and driving suits. My current suit is a single layer that does not fit me properly because I am so tall.

I am looking for a new fire suit to use for Formula D competition, so keep that in mind. My question regards if any of you all have ever purchased a "custom" fire suit.

I am 6'6" tall and wear a 34 W x 36 L pant.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to a company or suit manufacturer that can work to my specific requests to get a proper fitting suit? Or even advertisers selling brands such as Sparco, Alpinestars, or OMP can help get me in contact with someone to find me a suit.

Thank you.

All race suit manufacturers will make a suit that fits specific to your mesurments. Just email them. Alpine Stars, Sparco, Impact!, Simpson, Bell, etc etc. All will custom tailor suits.

Here is a couple suits that are made to order:
Simpson Racing - Simpson Made to Order Firesuits (http://simpsonraceproducts.com/products/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=4_555&zenid=ru4ae33ojpd20rvldh97msg6h5)

Custom Driver Suits (http://www.impactraceproducts.com/searchresults.asp?cat=52)

I can vouch for simpson and Impact! racing equiptment, they are great quality suits. Alpine Stars also makes suits made to your specs, just be prepared to pay a pretty penny.

I got to push my sponsor AxcelSports (www.facebook.com/AxcelSports) , my custom suit is coming to me now. They can do any design you need with sponsors, colors etc to include a shoes, glove package. Great communication and helps me with everything right away. So detailed are the suits that you must have 13 points of your body measured by a tailor.

Two and Three layer SFI FIA suits are avalible. Three layer is a bit more.

I went to a local race shop that sold them (OG Racing in Sterling VA) and tried a bunch on with the help of one of their sales people after work one day when I worked close by.

Really helpful feedback from them, on proper sizing and all that. If you can find find a shop that will let you try stuff on, it's worth taking a half day to make the trip if it isn't really close by.

Eventually when budget allowed for it, I wound up with a GeForce 545 suit iirc, love it so far.
