240sx vs A4?

V6 A4 vs SOHC 240sx? who will win in 1/4 mile?
i was surprised but i, 240sx actually won....
but i redlined every gear...

a 4 should win.... however if its a automatic and ur runnin a stick u could take him with good driving

A guy drove a completely stock A4 to the track the other day, just for time slips and did a 1/4 mile in some 14 seconds. (Standard tranny, of course.)

wait... i looked up some info... A4 and 240sx does the same time on the 1/4 mile... also A4 is much heavier....
it was a manual A4

Some caddies got balls, many of them are driven by v8 engines, doesn't take too much to get them past a stock 240sx

Hey people, I'm REALLY sorry. I meant S4 up there. It's usually very very late when I come on this beautiful gorgeous site, so I'm really slow. Plus, I used to be blonde and that seriously killed my braincells (even after I colored my hair brown again-no offense to blondes and blondemen). SO SORRYYYY

yeah the s4 will smoke a 240sx. &nbsp;its got a major horespower advantage 250hp and its all wheel drive so itll hook up faster. &nbsp;id say a 1/4 mile of about low to mid 14's. &nbsp;and theyre all manual

Both those cars S4 and Caddy STS are sweet. &nbsp; The Northstar is one bad ass powerplant and theS4 is a great racer. &nbsp;Quattro baby!! Still rather have my S14 and get it all hooked up though. &nbsp;

Not all S4 are 6 speed manual. They come in auto (tiptronic to be exact) Yea before 240sx i was gonna get a A4 1.8t... they have so much poteintial, i just really dont like pushin a luxo car to the max on a turn with 4 wheel drive, But the WRX, man that blew me away. then i met a rwd...IS300.....got one....sold it, made profit and im gonna get a S13 and mess wit it now.

eah - As much as I like the S4, it is still an Audi... which is still a VW... which is still a future POS, IMHO. &nbsp;I've yet to ride in a 50,000 mi. VW that I didn't feel was about to rattle, buzz, shimmy, and/or wobble itself to pieces. &nbsp;They are great new cars, but give them a few years and they really feel awful!

Have you ever driven in an S4, that is no VW man. &nbsp;When you are taking 5.0 blue ovals off the line and damb near everything through the wet curves, you aren't driving a VW.

VW- i know exactly what you mean, the thing is VW tries to do the newest of developments on there new cars, and in the end in the long run their car ends having problems (most the time unknown maintance). Audi on the other hand i can say, yes they are VW and VW does contribute the new technology into their Audi's, but for some reason from my personal observation, audis last awhile(long long &quot;almost honda&quot;like) on the streets(maybe its the service that comes wit it). just wanted to tell you y i agree but disagree on that one.

My sister never had many problems with her Jetta III, 'till it got t-boned at least. Oh well, she's got a WRX now.

i want an A4 too, the 1.8T has 165 hp stock and a ecu ups her too 195hp... i got a mag where they took it beyond 450hp, AWD, sedan... = love

the 1.8T is in the beetle, golf, jette, passat, A4, and it's gonna be in the A3 in 2003,
the S4 has 250hp right now, but i read that the next gen are going to be slammed better than the euro version and should be like 325+ with a better suspension... once again = love

ps: &nbsp;VW/Audi's are unreliable in my book. &nbsp;I've worked on many VW's and they just fall apart. &nbsp;Same goes for Audi.. they're just high-maintanance. &nbsp;Own one, then talk.

i agree, VW/Audi may have won over the public with fancy styling and other features, but they are still the same crap boxes they were in the 80's. they just look nicer. if u watch the top gear clip of the RS4, youll see that Tiff bashes the RS4 at the track because it just isnt fun in the turns. its got loads of power, but feels like an old fat lady on skis in the twisties.

That is one badass Quattro(TT coupe)!!! &nbsp;I'll have to disagree, &nbsp;Derek Bell says that his audi is the best cornering car he has ever driven. &nbsp;I'm not the best judge but Derek seems to know a little about racing. &nbsp;that doesn't mean it is the &quot;best&quot; car but it does imply that it is a very well performing vehicle!

audis arent bad, theyre pretty good performers, its just a shame that they such a crappy history of problems with build quality and whatnot. its just now that they are recovering from the &quot;sticking throttle&quot; problems they suffered in the 80's.

plus, there were the high speed stability problems with the TT in europe, which resulted in several deaths. and dont forget that headrests in the TT convertible, which have been known to be the cause of other serious injuries.

I used to own an S4 (had to sell it because I am a student again - bah!) and I can tell you one thing: if it is straight acceleration you are talking about, the 240SX is NO challenge. &nbsp;You will need an SR20DET to keep with it. &nbsp;With a chip and exhaust, I was running around 320 hp and around 375 lbs torque. &nbsp;The car ran a best of 13.8 (although other people on Audiworld.com have posted low 13s). &nbsp;The low end torque was awesome. &nbsp;It would even pull hard in 6th gear! &nbsp;Quality was impeccable and the car was extremely solid. &nbsp;The interior was definitely nicer than any BMW I have sat in (except for the new M3s). &nbsp;I also loved the styling. &nbsp; Overall an awesome car. &nbsp;If I didn't change careers, I would have never sold it (I almost cried when I did!). &nbsp;The only downfall of the S4 was its weight. &nbsp;Although the quattro could make up for some of it (and the coilovers helped too), it always felt a little too heavy for my tastes (3600 lbs). &nbsp;Which is why I love driving my 240. &nbsp;Sure it is 10 times cheaper than an S4, but it is still a #### fun car to drive. &nbsp;
