im wondering if anyone has had problems installing an aftermarket air filter
i bought a cheap foam one and installed it with an adapter but my mass air sensor made motor die i was wondering if i install a k%n cone type if it would cut down on the amount of flow and run ok or if im stuck installing the flat panel oem style filter

The oil from K&N filters can screw up your MAFS. Get an intake with a filter that doesn't have oil on it, like Injen, HKS, etc.

What?!! I've had my K&N for 10 thousand miles and had no problems.

i think if you have a used filter that could be the problem. My friend says (and I dont know if this is in K&N's instructions or not) that you should use a shop vac real good to remove excess oil after you "recharge" the filter

cause it CAN gum up the mAF sensor

use some brake cleaner to clean your MAF sensor and clean that filter up
