have found 3 rust holes on the driver side of my 240. 2 are up by the gas peddle. and one is by the left rear seat bracket. wondering how i should go about fixing it. i guess my best bet would be to cut and weld it. but not sure how much of it i should cut out. any advise would be great. pics below thanks.

Just be careful with that one near the seat mount. Thats why holds you in when you crash.

not sure if i should just cut out the pieces or cut out the whole drivers side floor panel and weld a new floor panel in?

New floor pan is best option. But If you don't go that route the hole by the seat I wouldn't cut. I'd just pop rivet and weld a new piece in much bigger than the hole and seal it as best as possible and possibly weld in a support rail if you can from the frame to the lift pinch.

where you gonna get a new floor pan?

patch it.

dont listen to guy above, he just described a moisture trap thats gonna collect dirt and rot out again.

i have parts cars to cut the pieces you need from.

^ From the looks of how much he has to cut out it'll be safer to not cut out and patch but to put a full patch on top, not from the bottom since it'll have more strength and then to seal from the bottom with rubber sealant. The front is pretty bad too, but that I would cut and patch since you don't really put any weight there.

Whatever. Go ahead and listen to brewster and then have your passenger fall through the floor. I'm out.

the rear has no rust except some surface in the spare tire well. frame rails apear to have no rust. havent looked at the passenger side yet. will take a look today or tomorrow. also plan on fixing the driver side this week end. as for the sparetire well im going to sand/ grind the surface rust and spray some kind of rust prevent. and then bed liner it.

This, right here.

Find a parts car, cut out as much of the floor pan as reasonably possible, have it welded in and sealed. Boom, Done.
