I have recently seen some good dyno results form doing this with both stock and afterarket cams fitted on other peoples cars.

I personally am looking at making adjustments to my stock straightcam SR cams. Which going by the Brian Crower website are 256/248 degrees duration.

What I am looking for is settings to set the cams to for better power/torque. Have people done this before and what improvments have they seen?

I have done a bit of searching on the web and come up with nothing so I think this could be a very worthwhile thread.

All info and input is welcome:D

It can be a time consuming procedure, it should be done on a dyno, and with access to the engine managment. Since every combination is different, every engine will react differently to the adjustments, so there is no "cookie cutter" setting.

My advice is: don't mess with it, use OEM cam gears, and copy a reliable proven setup that makes power with good response. If something in the combination is suffering due to the camshaft degree, then a component is likely mismatched to begin with. For instance do not use a greddy intake with a full-race exhaust manifold on a stock T-25 turbo. Yeah, the cams will probably be best installed with as little overlap as possible; but that is not their fault, the compressor simply cannot support the excess flow of tons of overlap, especially on a setup that would breath well to begin with.
