I just picked up a rear diff with a kaaz 2way in it from a guy, and when I went to put it in, it was way smaller then the abs open diff that i currently have. and further research i think it might be a ca18 diff. is there any way I can get it to work on my s13 or am I shit out of luck????? thank

Pretty sure you would need a non-abs drive shaft.

Lol. Ca18 is not a car so it can not be vs a s13.

Number two fail. Your installing a non abs diff in a abs and wondering why they don't fit.

Three, should have searched

the 4 rear mounting bolts on the case are different as well. is there another case I could use?

The cant be different or else it would not bolt to the subframe and would need a different cover for a s13

(future) the rear case is differnt and it dosn't bolt up. thats what the problem. I know if i change the rear half of the shaft that will work. and its about .5 to .75 of an inch narrorer awell but should be fine I think. its just the rear cover that doesn't line up to the bolts. the ca18 one is alot smaller. I just need to know if there is a differnt cover that will bolt on to it to make it work ext.....

Yeah that diff is not going to work. It looks so tiny lol. Like a crv diff haah

What did the seller sell it to you as?

That is a R180 diff. My Silvia Q's had one. For it to work you'll need a non-ABS driveshaft. There is no other cover you can use. Are you sure your subframe doesn't have six diff mounting holes (because it should) as the R180 should bolt right in. My R180 is currently in a subframe from a non-JDM S13.

I talked to the seller it came out of a s13 with a ca18 he pulled the sub frame out and it has the six holes in it. So I'll just pull my sub frame and stick the other sub frame that the diff came out of in. My sub frame doesn't have the 6holes. Thanks for the info. I was hoping I didn't have to pull my sub frame out but that's not the case.

doesnt make sense tho because the Ca models came with 4:36's ring/pinions which can be swapped into other r200 diffs. now saying its a 180 was my first thought but not from a s13 but a s12. so the Q's came with r180's?
the CA model came with the DET so highly doubt it had a 180

The R180 came on NA models, so this one was probably from an S13 with a CA18DE or SR20DE (like mine),

i thought the NA models ( Q's) were sr20DE's only an the ca came only as a DET in 89

According to 'The History of Silvia & 180SX' found in HyperRev Vol. 102, pg. 178-179, the early model Q's was equipped with a CA18DE that put out 135ps/6400rpm and 16.2kg-m/5200rpm.
