I'm thinking of going w/ a t28 on my sr motor. anybody run/know of any turbo's out there that cost about the same (new) but put out a bit more power as well as utilizing the stock manifold still? I'd like a little more power than what the t28 can give me....thanks guys

I have a CA and was looking to upgrade from the t25 to a s14 t28 as I hear it bolts right up but go for the s15 t28 or a rb26 t28 but the price will be alot more

whats the difference between the s15 t28 and yours? i.e. how much hp can i see w/ that thing, will it fit stock manifold?

I am.......Is is clocked correctly?

And to answer your question........not really......The T28 is the T28......Anything else is not gonna make more power or not gonna fit......

(other than a ball bearing like the SpecR full ball bearing T28.........)

The T28 off a GTR is not the same size as a T28 off an S14/S15. Ill post up a pic of the 2 turbines side by side in a bit.

If you guys are interested in the turbine, just pm me. 2 other people already did haha.

Rpsport, we offer you a bolt up gt28/t3 hyrbrid (similar to big28) that is capable of over 310whp with a flatter trq curve than the s15 turbocharger. The turbo bolts right up into your stock location on any rwd sr20det. Full boost is had by approx 3200rpms or so. One customer dynoed at 276whp, 276ft fb or trq with pump gas with 370cc (eqivelent to stock) injectors. With 550cc injectors and a set of cams properly tuned s-afc or power fc you will be looking at liek i said 310+ whp :w00t: . Better option than gt28 or gt25 spec turbos bcause of faster spool up for auto x and daily drivers... used to offer it for 650+ core exchange were moving to somewhere in the price range of  850 dollars without core exchange shipped(all brand new garrett components straight from their factory) direct bolt on...blows the "disco gay potato" out of water... :rl:

rpsports, is it possible to get a turbo like that without an internal wastegate? I'm guessing no, but I just figured I'd ask. I've heard of people welding the wastegate shut before, but that doesn't sit well with me...

Get a GT28RS. Basicly like a T28 but with newer wheel design and bigger turbine a/r. Good for about 25-50 more hp than a t28 with similar spool. There arent a whole lot available in retail channels right now, but when they are more common, the cost should be about $1000.

Disco potato was Sport compact cars name for a sentra that had a SR20DET and a then experimental but now commercially available turbo. Sold as GT28RS by some vendors. Similar to a HKS GT2530.

I think this option would be abad idea for a major power difference....If your looking to spend money why not spend a good amount and get a good (powerfull) Ballbearing turbo cappable of 400+ at 3400 RPM's (T04B)?

This turbo also bolts to your stock manifold as most of you didnt read.....
For 100 dollars more you can have a 500+ HP turbo (T04E) with a little more lag..........

T04B specs......

JGYBB37 - TO4B Compressor housing with 56 trim GT35 compressor wheel. 44lbs/min air flow. .86 AR T2 exhaust housing with 76 trim GT25 turbine wheel. Good for 400+HP and bolts on to SR20DET manifolds and downpipes. Internal Wastegate.

T04E specs.....

JGYBB37R - TO4B Compressor housing with 56 trim T04S compressor wheel. 55lbs/min air flow. .86 AR T2 exhaust housing with 84 trim GT30 turbine wheel. Good for 500+HP and bolts on to SR20DET manifolds and downpipes. Internal Wastegate

At 12 Psi on the T04B you should be hitting 350 to the wheels......

Just an idea..........

"At 12 Psi on the T04B you should be hitting 350 to the wheels......" bahahaha, not on an SR. The GT25R, which has a larger compressor than a T04B, makes ~400rwhp at 20-22psi. there's not a chance in hell you'll make 350 at the wheels at 12psi on a T04B. 18-20psi maybe.;)

HiPSI
02-27-2004, 05:37 PM
and it seems every company rates their turbo flows differently. the 56 trim T04S compressor on the GT25R claims 44lb/min airflow, whereas JGY claims 55lb/min out of the same wheel and a smaller housing? ???

Id rather have the JGY than the HKS though.......I just dont like HKS turbo's..............

on the jgybb37r we use a gt35 chra with a .86 t2 flanged turbine housing and a to4b compressor housing. the gt25r is closer in power potential to our bb37. different compressor wheel. the gt25r uses a t04s housing but a smaller wheel. it is a good turbo too, but the compressor map will show you that its not as effecient as the bb37. i think the bb37r is too big for most street cars. the jgybb37 (not the r) is a great turbo that will do 400whp but is best suited for 350-375 whp. disco potato isn't bad, if you only want 300whp reliably.

Isn't there about a 400-500 dollar difference though between your guys JGYBB37 and the GT25R. They both can make around 400 whp also correct? I'm in the market for a turbo of this nature again for my new S14 and want to hear your opinion on why your turbo is worth the 45% increase in $.
