Anybody know of a good place to find magnetic drain plug for my SR? Are any of you using them? I don't know why they don't come with them from the factory, it seems like a cheap way to protect your engine.

Yeah, I saw some on ebay before but $25 for a magnetic drain plug seems rediculous to me. Anywhere local to get them? I tried the regular autoparts stores and came up with nothing.

u can get a magentic wrap for ur oil filter that is suposed to trap metal in the filter, dunno how long ur filter would last while brakeing a motor in but its another option

i bought one of those magnetic drain plugs, when i went to change my oil the next time, the magnet was no where to be found, it came out of the plug, cuz the glue they used didnt stand up to the oil, or the heat, i dunno, but when i pulled my oil pan to replace the gasket, i found it in the bottom, with alota metal around it, but i rev the crap outa my single cam, so i kinda expect it to not like it, hehe.

It is.

MFactory on Honda-Tech is having a sale on them. I just picked up like six. $10 A piece, strong ass magnets. Make sure you get the ALUMINUM ones, not the steel ones.

Apologies to any mods if I shouldn't be posting links.

EDIT: Best thing to do in the case of magnets on your oil filter would be to purchase some Neodymium magnets from eBay, the good ones. Grade N48s. Stick them horizontally on the filter side, and catch small particles ++ It's like $15 for ten one inch long ones.

Yeah and neo is such a superior magnet that i would put money down on saying it wont come off even without glue
