I'm getting incredibly impatient to get my SR together and I think what i might do is build my lower end, Manley rods, CP 86.5 or 87mm (suggestions here) 9.0:1 compression, cometic head gasket, main studs and so on. I want to do solid lifters, bigger valves, cam hears in my head that i have ported myself.

Question is, Is it a good idea to put a stock head on a built bottom end? and then when i eventually get around to getting my ported head together, ill will swap out the stock head, put a new head gasket on and upgrade whatever else i want to when i get to it. Any input?

If it means anything, i will be running a t28 turbo, low boost at first until I see what condition my current turbo is.

There's nothing wrong with it. You can always build the head at a later date.
