Here's a cheap guide to removing your quarter window on a S13 hatch using some basic tools on the cheap. I highly recommend buying the more proper tool for the job (auto glass cut out tool) but this will do the job if need be. The cut out tool cost anywhere from 150-300+ so this is why I went this route.
I'll start with your tool list

- heat gun
- harbor freight cold knife cut out tool
- harbor freight auto glass clip remover
- pliers
- mechanics wire and small blocks of wood
- gasket scraper (Not Pictured)

First you need to start by removing the outer weather stripper, Start from the top and door jam side (thinner portion of stripping) and work your way to the bottom first. This will prevent you from tearing your old dry rotted rubber. Run the cold knife along it as so, may need a tad of heat to get it going IN MODERATION or youll melt your shit!

Now you should be able to start pulling it off, use a little heat if its not seperating easily. Heat it and let it cool, the old glue won't want to restick after its been loosening and you dont want to pull on the hot rubber it will rip

On the bottom portion you can use a tad more heat, but again heat then let it cool a bit, your going to want to pull down and out so the inner lip doesnt just tear off. sorry no pic

If the bottom is being a bitch (like mine) you start removing the glass itself along the side and top by cutting the adhesive that holds it on to free a little wiggle room. Here your going to need some heat, probably alot of it. heat then cut wile its hot as pictured.

Heating directly in the crack works best because this adhesive is some tough shit!

ok so theres also some clips directly glued to window that line the window up, when you get to this point mark the clips (4 Total).

as for the bottom, the cut out tool isn't able to get in the crack. So here is where you bust out your two small blocks of wood and mechanics wire. Drill holes in the wood so the wire doesnt just fall off. Heat a spot at the bottom and feed the wire through with the pliers. Much easier to feed from the back to front not as im doing here

so after you get ALL the adhesive off you can now pop your clips with your clip tool. DO NOT PRY ON GLASS!!! you will break it very easily like I did from the junk yard part, it doesnt take much

Just push the tool all the way down and it will pop the clip. Remember there is 4 of them. DONT FORGOT 10 MM BOLT ON THE INSIDE

use a gasket scraper and heat to get the majority of the adhesive left on the car removed. Then wipe down with some type of remover to get residue off.

Hope this is helpful, like I said, probably not the best way to go about it especially if you care alot about your paint. I definetly recommend getting the power cut out tool but this atleast gives you some guidance.

Nice ..me and my homie did this a while back on a coupe, no heat gun, but now that I think about with the heat gun it would of been hella easy. Great write up .. Zilvia needs more of this, and less asshole posts and bullshit threads.
