I have a project in mind of dropping an RB26DETT into an S14, but I know that the RB26 has emission issues in the US.
So my question is, Is it possible to have a street legal RB26 in California?
Thus if any people have RB26 in their 240's please point me in the right direction as to going about and dropping that engine and maintaining the car street legal.
I've read the only way to do this is to put it on a 240 that's 95 and below because of OBDII, this true?

Also sorry if I posted in the wrong place, I'm new to Zilvia.

Thanks :D

It is impossible. I am from Florida and I know this. The RB motor is illegal, "track only" in CA.

Why am I feeding trolls today.

18, wants RB26

You could look below at the 2JZ swap thread just below this. Same rules apply to any engine swap.

seek out owners, and ask them, but good luck. I moved out of my government controlled state to a place that is free to modify.

Walperstyle, yes I'm 18 but I'm aware what an RB26 takes. This project is by no means to be done tomorrow. It will take years of saving up, that's why I'm seeking out info.
and thanks, I'll look take a look at it.

Emissions issue? You do know the engine is never sold in the US, hence not legal anywhere? You have about as much chance as getting an RB26 to pass a smog ref as me finding one of the 3 $460M lotto ticket in my wallet.

You got a better chance of making a 2JZ or an LSx become smog legal in CA.

This thread is literally going nowhere...
Same as it has the last 5 million times it has been posted.

I do not expect a different outcome so I will close it now.
