Hey guys I really need help. I have a 90 240 hatch with the ka24e in it and the I recently put a new ecu, maf, and distributor in it. The shop I had it at didn't cut the fan on when they got it running so it over heated and separated the plastic top of the radiator from the metal. So put the new one in. Drove it home and it has no power at all and bog when taking off. Does anybody have any suggestions? Maybe blown head gasket? Please let me know cause this is my only car and its been in the shop for over a month and now I got it back and its still messed up. Please help!!!!!

Blown headgasket.

Leak down test, compression test.

Reset timing after you diagnose the headgasket.

adjust your distributor rotor again to make sure there is no missed fire ,,if you want to know if your head gasket is blown or not ,,open your oil cap and see if there is any water inside the engine oil 's cap

The headgasket can be blown and not get coolant in oil. You need to perform a leakdown test.

after the shop changed distributor , you car had no power and it bog when taking off . this so obvious that you need to adjust a distributor again , make sure that after you set TDC ,your distributor rotor doesn't pass ignition pin number one ,or far aways back from it , it got nothing to do with head gasket ,but if your car still over heat ,,that will be head gasket ,,good luck for a new head gasket ,

It is so bad,you can ask the garage to use a diagnostic tool to read the fault cold and active test to see where the problem of the car.I think they have this tool or you can have one just one hundred dollar...I know a special tool to is Memoscan N607 Nissan (http://www.xcardiag.com/wholesale/professional-nissan-infiniti-obd2-scanner-tool-n607-fault-code-scanner-333.html),easy to use and you can test by yourself at home,Good luck

ODB 2 is too new for his car ,, and now he's gone ,,that mean problem already solved by me ,,lol

Ok guys, the car will start and run now but after 4,000 rpms it has nooooooo power. And as soon as it gets to operating temperature it cuts off and wont cut back on for an hour or 2. Suggestions? Just put a new cap and button and ignition coil on too and still wont help

So, a shop messed up your car, and now you are fixing it? something is wrong with that picture. If they overheated it, or installed any of those items mentioned, you need to make them fix it.

No power, and shutting off once at full temp, could be a MAF or ignition problem. Have you pulled codes to see what the ECU is reporting?
