900 hp at 45psi All Wheel Drive 2000 lb. street car!!!!

This car is exactly what I would build If I had entirely too much money. It is a Volkswagen Golf featured in October 2001 issue of SCC, and I would suggest you run out and get it. The car is so dumb, stupid-fast, I honestly can not imagine riding in it. Try to comprehend this: it is a 2.3, 5 cylinder Audi motor de-stroked to a 2.1 for higher revs (10,200 RPM rev limit) mated to an IMSA racing 6 speed gear box and all wheel drive, and how's this for power to weight ratio... it weighs only 2000 lbs, and it's getting lighter soon with the addition of BBS magnesium wheels and Carbon Racing brakes. Fully molded carbon fiber dash. 14.75" front brakes, 14" rears. 19x10 Racing Dynamics wrapped with 265/35/19's all the way around. Hand built 4.5" exhaust from the turbo back. A  gargantuan titanium KKK turbo. On the dyno it started breaking all four tires loose above 5800 rpms and it still dynoed 900 hp at 45psi. The car reaches peak hp around 8000 rpms. I thought Darius' 240z with a supercharged, intercooled LT-1 with a six speed was the mother of all insane car creations. I saw that.  I was disgusted!  I couldn't even comprehend what I would do with a car that I sunk $500,000 into.

Normally I would say to each his/her own but....
that is just stupid.
But then again if he's got 500k to spend on a VW, maybe he already has all the superexotics... #### thats half way to a McLaren.

i'd rather have the venom 800 twin turbo viper, and put a few hundred grand into it. but hey, it's his money! he must be paying gran turismo type prices, 80,000 for a turbo, 47,000 for tires, 5000 for air filter and exhaust. hehe

That's pretty impressive, though I hate VW's. &nbsp;I'm with mrace If i had 500 g's to spend I would get something nicer than that like a Ferrari or something. &nbsp;Better still maybe I would go to Japan and bring back a GTR, and hook it up nicely! &nbsp;Waste of money on a VW if you ask me!

But see... aside from the loudness of the exhaust, and heat from the muffler in the back seat... that car is a 900 hp DAILY DRIVER! &nbsp;That kind of street-legal power is what cost so much. &nbsp;He is just a audi guy, with his own shop. &nbsp;That kind of publicity for anyperson's shop is great! &nbsp;Anyone pick up on the 600hp daily-driving audi's and his top secret car.

you know what... if the guy spent his money on an exotic car like a ferrari or lambo, it wouldnt be as fun as making your own super car. &nbsp;think about it, its his hobby and he just does for his enjoyment. &nbsp;You would apreciate your car more if you spent the time fixing it up. this is only my opinion though cuz i know i would feel that way.

I just wanna know how he can run 45 psi without blowing the motor to shreds. &nbsp;And if his turbo is that big wouldn't it take like 4.5 days to spool up?
