Act extreme clutch install. Friction plate orientation?

I am installing an unsprung act extreme clutch on my sr20det
I am unsure of which side of the friction plate should go against the pressure plate side. Ive posted photos of way #1 and way #2. Which is correct?

Should be the 2nd pic...snout is always facing away from flywheel and flat side always towards the flywheel.
