Im looking for some opinions on what period correct s13 parts I should be looking for. Stuff like old omari gauges, old hks evc's etc. I want to put this car together like someone would've done in the 90's.

revcyanide

sooo outdated electronics?

why don't you use 90's exterior styling, but use the better electronics they make today, rather than spending a fortuned and looking forever for stuff that does not work as well as stuff off the counter?

your car, it's cool. just makes no sense to me.

Im not making this a rule of thumb for the way I want the car done but I do want a couple pieces. When it comes to tuning it would be power fc or the like but some old gauges and stuff wouldn't hurt.

I feel you on this. What I say for the most part is "dress your car for its age". I don't know anything exactly on your topic though. I like old school parts on old school cars.

I hear you, i always thought it would be very cool to do a mid 90's themed S13. Old school HKS gauges all older/rare parts on it. basic and simple.

best bet is to search the classifieds here everyday. get good with Yahoo Japan auctions and ebay. Good luck.

Advice for you is seach the easter egg and rare parts thread, and search alot, some parts are easy to find and can be quite cheap. more sought after parts take a while to find can be real pricey.

Not sure on the dates, but they must have been made specifically for the US market since they are in imperial units instead of metric. I would guess they were manufactured in the early-mid 90's. So, they probably weren't that old when your buddy bought them. It's purely speculation on my part though. Matej, thanks for the vid. That thing is bookmarked now :)

If you really want it 90's style I would start with:

Canister exhaust (I think you can still get Fujitsubo Legalis-R exhausts new, $$$$ though)
Cusco Type-ST Strut Bar (or any bar that screws in the middle)
Omori Gauges (the look hasn't changed much over the years so these would be the easiest to find to look period correct)
HKS EVC3
Recaro SR with the gradient or "splotchy" fabric in the middle
Tomei short shifter
Sheepdog BOV
Nismo 330 steering wheel with the old school nismo horn button

Thats off the top of my head. The engine and especially suspension tuning I would not want to go back 90's style. Non adjustable coilover with non adjustable lower bracket, no thank you. If you want to go that far though, Nismo N1/Tokico HTS/KYB Buzz Spec shocks with KG/MM springs. Oh yeahhhhh

You are gonna hate your wheel selection and fitment.

you get MoMo Arrows,
or,
VX1/Venoms

Your door speakers should be Bose,
But you need to have an 18" or a pair of 12"'s in the trunk.
Rockford Fosgate would be the brand as well.

Dont forget your NEUSPEED sticker

HKS exhaust
painted brake calipers.
Fog lights.
The purple tinted ones just were getting big at that time.
PIAA's BTW.

Also, white cars.

Its gonna be great, lol

period correct FTW...

i have my circa 1990 momo steering wheel on my 90 240 right now, father bought it brand new for his 85 civic dx, and i rocked it on my 86 civic si for years. its been lying around, so when i got my 240, i threw it on for the hell of it. funny thing is my father paid A LOT for it back in 90, like 300 or something, and it was the top of the line momo street wheel back then, now its like a 130 dollar wheel haha

I own 1-4.

I bought the whole damn set one time because I thought it was king of speed. lol I was stoked nonetheless.

I have LM-GT3's in almost those exact specs.
and I have an OG Apex'i revspeed meter that i was gonna sel. i may just keep it for the 2tone.

I need the tomei tri point stb and a rear. And a huge list of other shit i have loved for years but dont want any competition for lol.

Lol I would like to make my Z look old school in the inside, but my radio kills it.
I got so gauges, bee rev, old blitz dual boost controller, turbo timer and apexi MC... Also have the full Bomex kit with the III+IV spoiler, I am looking to get some old school rims. I have notice that back then 17s on a slammed car was the $hit and it look great, now I would like to get 18 with deep dish...
