Hi everybody,
I bought an s14 few months ago, and I interested to know my estimated power.

Car specs:
S15 engine with GT28R
740cc injectors
tubular Manifold
Greddy inlet manifold
2.5" piping
1.5 mm head gasket
Power fc ECU
External wastegate
Low-weight Pulleys
The car runs with 1.5 bar of boost

-What is the estimated power for this spec?

-One more little question:
How much boost the original pistons and rods can handle?

Thanks :)

damn son 20+psi of boost.... i wanna say prob around the low 300s to mid 300s

stock bottom end is good for around just over 400 but i wouldnt go bouncing off the rev limiter with that kind of power on stock bottom end parts haha

i put down 300 with mods in my sig. So with better turbo and higher boost. ud be mid 300s with 91 oct.

Turn the boost down. Past 16-17 psi that GT28R is just blowing hot air towards redline.

That turbo is good for 300 rwhp give or take a little.

Ding ding ding! 18psi is probably the Max I would run. After that its like forcing fire into your engine
should be about 290ish

Which turbo is recommended for this spec(and over 20psi of boost)?

A 2871 or bigger. 35 maybe ;)

The 2871 is really so different than the 28R?
It's fine for me if 2871 is be better because this turbo start boost at low RPM what is important for drifting.

You can make over 400rw with a 2871. Not with a S15 Spec gt28.

Practically same response.

Thanks.

Last question:
For everyday drift car with some track days.
Can be any problem with the fuel flow to engine when drifting without surge tank? Or i must install an surge tank before drifting?

people use the gt28rs, seems like a great turbo for 300-350 range

well to give you an idea of power I'm running a S14 with a stock turbo @ 1 bar with 480cc spec R injectors and tomei racing ecu pushing 285-290

this ^^

Rephrase of this (with my own opinions included) :
Turn it down to 16psi if you want to get 50% of its life expectancy
turn it down to 12psi if you want to get 95% of its life expectancy

"it" = S15 turbocharger oil seal

max power I have ever seen one of those brand new make is 318RWHP that was around 17psi. Most will peak around 290RWHP on average though, you are lucky if you get any more than that (luck = cold weather)
Over the years after countless experiences with countless S15 engines I have concluded that "it" was not designed with 15psi+ In mind. You can still tap the compressor with 12-13psi if you know what you are doing (what you are doing = valve timing)
