if you slowly rev it and gets worst at a certain RPM (sweet spot), its definitely rod knock.

Were you low on oil or something? Either way, drop the oil pan and see if you got gold in there. If you strike gold, bubye rod bearings...

Yeah I'll do that. If I do need to fix the rod what are the steps?

1.pull engine
2.open remove the oil pans
3. Change rod bearings?
Anything else?
How much do you think it's gonna cost for me to do it all by my self? Parts etc.

Its not the cost you have to worry about, its doing it right that you have to worry about. If you've never done something like this, I'd suggest you find somebody who does. Last thing you wanna do is disassemble the engine, rebuild it, then run it and its still fucked up.

Honestly, cheaper option would be finding another long block and just swap everything you have over to it.

While thats true, IMO I think its better to spend a little extra and have some brand new bearings instead of risking it again with another block.

rather than start a new thread I thought I would post here instead. If its not cool please let me know and I will start a new one. I have a similar problem, but I am looking at getting a 180SX with a blacktop. I checked it, as you will see in the vid, for the sweet spot for knock but found none. I checked it and wasted a few minutes of their fuel checking but just heard that tapping in the vid. I suspect its in the head , but that a simple oil change and tightening down some parts. Yes?

after googling and searching the shiznit out of forums I decided that I will get this car. It could be as simple as changing the oil or even just tightening down some screws. At most maybe adjust/buy a new sensor.
