Getting close to dropping my RB25 in. I searched and came up with mixed results. My swap came with a bad transmission and I purchased a new one (don't want to do that again soon). It will mostly be a daily driver with occasional track time.

Did some more reading around and its looking like Redline MT90 is the go to fluid for a street car.

I know a few people that are blowing trani's on redline and switched to royal purple. But I think amsoil makes pretty good trani oil.

Currently using AMS Oil. can't say which is the best and doub few on the board can. Just their opinions, and where they choose to spend thier money.

Anything that's GL-4...do not run GL-5 oil in Nissan trannies. Hot GL-5 oil does not like brass synchros.

good old Redline MT-90 synthetic, yes this is what you want if you love your transmission.

Thanks for the input guys :) think I'm gonna go with the MT90, if any funniness occurs I'll switch it up to something thicker

MT-90 sucks! It takes forever to warm up and shifting feels very notchy. Switched from MT-90 to Amsoil and shifting feels like butter all the time.

I also agree with MT-90 taking forever to warm up = notchy until warm. I also recommend Amsoil or Motul. Running Motul on my RB25 trans.

I'm a firm believer on Amsoil...fixed my SR's notchiness and after beating on it, I had almost no shavings on the drain bolt after a good year of running it.

Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90.

That's what we run in all of our non-GM manual transmissions, and results in the coolest trans temps and best results while hot.

We have it in stock all the time, you need just over 2qts IIRC.
