I'm having a problem and I've checked all the obvious that I can think of..My SR with gt2871r on 20psi- I've been running fine going on 6 years now-

When under heavy throttle, as I hit 13-14 psi in any gear, the car starts hesitating as it would if I hit fuel cut and wideband shows it going completely rich. I can't think of anything that has changed about the car lately, so I'm not sure where to look. Can't find a boost leak, it has new plugs..

What am I missing? something simple I'm sure..

shouldn't be...I suppose it's a cheap check though.

Only reason I say that...if it wasn't getting enough fuel, why would the wideband read way rich?

Were the new plugs gapped right and have you checked to make sure you didn't get a bum one?

boost leak, for sure. especially if it starts once u hit a certain psi.

What plugs are you running? Could be spark blow-out, same thing was happening to me at like 16psi on a t28

mine car was like that. check your spark plugs. replace and gapp then correctly.

Sounds like a boost leak......

I feel like a boost leak would happen way earlier than 13-14 psi

I'm calling gap... At 20psi you'll need to be at most 0.025" on an iridium. I don't know of any that come with that tight of gap from NGK. I run BKR7EIX-11 and gap down to that. I am running 18-20psi

That's what I'm thinking, smaller gap and a step colder plugs

from experience, a boost leak can happen under certain psi. It requires "XX psi" of boost before the leak shows. and so you car is metering that air for 13 psi and adding that much fuel. once the boost leak starts to open up your dumping fuel. Spark blowout can happen, but at 13-14psi is when u said ur problem starts to present. which would not really indicate blow out, unless ur gapped huged.(over .030 or whatever.) i run 15psi at ~.028 with no blow out

thanks for the help everyone. still trying to figure this out. It's not the plugs. they're bkr7e gapped at .025, same as I've been doing the past 6 years. I'm not thinking its a plug issue.
