Koyo arent ebay

i had my koyo radiator for about 10 years and no problems before koyo change their logo design on top radiator

koyo's have a thicker core and comes with 3-core type while the typical ebays are 2 core type radiators

Ummm Mishimoto comes with a lifetime warranty, including crash warranty. Why would you NOT buy a Mishi? So an Ebay one is $100 cheaper. Well then you hit a curb and wreck it and...have to buy a new one. Or Mishimoto would give you one for free.

And they're also a decent company that doesn't make porous knock-off Greddy intake manifolds. So...

I havn't seen a Mishi rad up close but I've seen their intercoolers. I'm fairly confident they are the same as any other Ebay product. It seems like the extra $100 just covers the cost of another radiator. Most people don't crash their cars, so its pure profit for them.

I know when I look for intercooler piping, I look for the thickest possible piping.

I ran a CXracing (2 core) one for the past year after my koyo was crushed in an accident, and it sucked at cooling. My temp with CXracing was 81* around town and 83* highway. My koyo was 78* or 79* town and highway. Just bought a mishmoto w/ shroud(lifetime warranty) and hope it cools same as my old Koyo!

Also got my Mishimoto for $190 shipped, dont remember exactly what I paid for my CXracing, but on ebay they are around $130 shipped so worth the lifetime guaranty.

Been running on one of the cheaper 2row radiators from ebay on my Ka for about 6 months, went ka-t about 3 weeks ago and i havent had an overhating problem yet. For precautions i also installed new pump, nismo stat, belts and megan hoses. I live in the socal desert(115 every day in summer), so i say its holding its own pretty good.:boink:

True thanks for the advice on the good stuff.... im on a budget with the car man , school , books and shit kill me man ... so i0f i could pay around 120 to 140 for a dual i would do it but dont have 300 or so ish for a mishi , good stuff though..

I have a Mishimoto Radiator and can confirm that they're nearly identical to an Ebay... Warranty and real company are worth the extra $100.

koyo deffiitly takes it imo. But to he honest i think the real back bone of your cooling system is your fan setup. I had a bolt ons SR with an oem silvia radiator that had a clutch fan and 2 12 inch torq flo pusher fan and it cooled better than my koyo did with altima fans. But then i got a set of dual 12 inch slim FAL fans that worked wonders.

See my sig? Sorry if you don't like it.

My statements simply reflect the way I was treated in my ignorance, and I am grateful to the people who did so, because that's how I learned. That and I read books, something more people need to do.

So I'm not 'trying' to do anything but help people realize the irrelevance or ignorance of their comments (read: help them). I very rarely get blatantly rude or insulting on an internet forum, and I usually regret it and apologize afterwards.

Is mishimoto still doing the "mishimoto loves drifters" thing? you can get a radiator for half off from them.
