Hello Z-heads,

I just replaced the engine coolant temperature sensor on a '93 300ZX TT and I thought that someone on this board would prosper from a nifty write-up on the job :l101: Let's get started!

Where is the ECT?
The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor is located in the front of the engine, in the top of the water inlet housing. It is Part Code 2630 in this diagram (http://www.nissanpartszone.com/Page_Product/PartDetail.aspx?ModelName=300ZX&ModelYear=1993&ModelSeries=Z32&FileType=279&SelectConditions=(2%3dVD30DTT%3b3%3d2S%3b4%3dGLL%3 b5%3dMT%3b)&ShowConditions=(2%3dVD30DTT%3b5%3dMT%3b)&seeDesc=False&goBack=True&SectionNo=C&ComponentsNo=210&ComponentsIndex=2)

Get to the removal and installation already!

1) Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor wiring harness.

2) Remove the ECT sensor.

3) Replace the sensor with a new one.

4) Re-connect the ECT sensor to the wiring harness.

5) You're done! :boink:

As you can tell, it's an easy job that can be performed in a matter of minutes. Good luck guys!
