Okay it is time for me to start this build thread. First I would like to say this has been a long time coming and I just can't wait for the finish product to be done. I will do this build in stages and tell you everything, from building the engine to suspension work. I will also make note of how much everything cost since that is a big deal for everyone that wants to do an LS build. I will post an update once a week with pics so there will be something to look at..And last but not least I will post a beer of the week, since I love crafted beers:thumbup: So lets get started!!

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/theyears.jpg

Wanted to post this pic here.. Some of you know my car and some of you don't. but it has been through so many wheels/looks its not funny.. But it will not look like this any more and hopefully the last change.....

STAGE 1: Phase 1...'Engine tear down and clean up'

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/15.jpg

Let's start this with the beer of the week.. One of my Favs 'DogFish Head 90 Min' Good stuff

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/1-2.jpg

First thing was the purchase of this LS1 longblock that I got off of LS1tech.com. You can find a lot of useful info on there so def check it out..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/2-1.jpg

A little dirty but that will all change. Had 38k on it and the owner had the Bottom end torn down by a local machine shop (to check the condition of it which was great still) and had all the bearings replaced, ls6 oil pump installed, ls2 timing chain, ARP rod bolts.. All this for the price of $1500

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/35.jpg

In my opinion not a bad purchases since I plan on changing and adding a lot of aftermarket parts..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/3-2.jpg

First thing I saw was this little chip on the crank balancer pulley.. a no go in my book and will get replaced...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/4-1.jpg

Now lets crack open these heads and see what we have.. To do so you will need a 10mm to unbolt all the head bolts.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/5-1.jpg

Nasty:icon22: I don't like how dirty they are so I will send these off to the machine shop to get cleaned..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/6-1.jpg

To have the heads ready for the machine shop, I went to Advance Auto parts to rent out there Valve Spring Compressor. This is a free service through them and you guys should def take advantage of it.. Just leave a deposit and you get it back when you return it..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/7-2.jpg

Comes with everything you need to get the job done.. It is kind of like a big ass C clamp

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/75.jpg

I placed a little rubber cap over the end of the compressor so it would not F up the valves..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/8-1.jpg

Lets do this... Gloves are

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/9-2.jpg

This is how you use this tool for those that don't know. The Heads have to be off the engine to use this tool.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/10-1.jpg

Placement of the tool

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/11-1.jpg

next is getting these damn Valve seals out.. Just use pliers and a lot of force..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/12-1.jpg

Then remove the retainers...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/13.jpg

Bam!!! everything is all done and ready to send to machine shop..

......
...
..
.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/14.jpg

Okay got them back from the machine shop from their bath.. and man does it look so much better.. Price of this service is only $25 a head...

So Build total so far is $1550

Next week: STAGE 1: Phase 2 'Cam/Pulley Install'

dont get me wrong, im not against the v8. but why? i understand the swap into 240s. the motor that comes with 240s in stock from sucks donkey balls.

the motor that comes with this car isnt all that bad. wouldnt take much to get the vq up to what the ls1 has right?

personally the motor that comes in the 03-06 350z's sucks balls
anything over 400whp and you have the build the block,
cost more to build the block and add turbo's than just put a simple V8 in it
plus n/a is more reliable on the track than have to worry about turbos, boost leaks, etc

oh and a stock ls1 has about 100 more whp and torque than vq35de

really? he's already spent 1500

ok i feel that

oh and a stock ls1 has about 100 more whp and torque than vq35de

cant get 100whp for what he's about to spend?

but if its purely for want of the ls1, thats cool and by all means do it.
i really liked the car when you had the black 19s and the next set. didnt dig the rotiforms too much but like your style

Thanks bro.. haha no they are not bent.. the table cuts of at the end and it was sitting on the end of it..

hahaha, lets hope... Your build really inspired me.

Sick bro,, I know what ever you do will look sick.. Can't wait to tear it up with you guys..

McDougal hit it on the money.. I should have explained the reason why I choose the LS over doing twin turbos. Well the main reason is reliability and that LS motors are a dime a dozen. like Mc said the VQ motors are known to blow at around 400hp which is a no go in my book. The cost of build the block and still not having the liability does not sit right with me. Also I have always loved V8s and the amount of torque they put out..

Finally Edafe! lol - see you soon ;)

I'll let you know who this is soon - pm me your number.

Okay... hope not a stalker :(

Loving the detail in this build thread. I've been helping out otto graven on installing his ls7r. If you have any questions let me know, I can find the answer. lol

Well you don't have to build the block till about 700whp, but you do need rods and pistons to make anything over 400whp safely.

Once people get over 400whp they start having issues, either with the build it's self of just constant BS.
Piston slap, leaking this and that, ideal problems, head lift so forth. Its all well documented.

Not to mention the DE and Rev-Up motors only put 240-246whp to the ground in stock form it's little wonder people are swapping out the minivan motor.

I wish I put my VQ into my 240 an then a LS/JZ into the Z. Oh well.

I agree with u. Any car supporting big HP is def going to run into problems.

By the way my stock Rev-Up threw down 256hp on the dyno. Lol

Thanks for the kind words. As for the poor oil consumption. This is taken car of with the new LS6 oil pump and also adding an Acusump to the mix. That in my opinion is a must for LS motors.

kouki_steve
07-28-2011, 09:57 AM
I was just asking because i saw the perimeter valve cover (early style) = 97 vette or 98 fbody ls1.

Also, its not so much the oil pump. The early block design/oil galleries
were somewhat restricted and didn't flow well. compared to the revised
99 block and even better, ls6 2002 block. Might want to look into that, last thing
you would want is a accusumped lsx still starving for oil.

yea, figured. look into trying to get a 99 block and up if you can,
just my honest opinion.. its that important, if your going to stick
around the high rpms.. (likely)

Seen it happen too many times,
I'm GM asep certified, work at a chevrolet dealership.
good luck with your swap!

Okay folks here I am with week 2 update.. I plan on updating every Sunday...

STAGE 1: Phase 2 'Cam/Pulley Install'

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/15-1.jpg

Lets start this off with the Beer of the week.. We have here folks 'Mississippi Mud' Its a Black & Tan beer which has a little kick to it.. I also love the bottle it comes in, makes me feel like I should be sitting on a porch throwing meat to alligators..lol

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/16.jpg
Okay what I am installing today is a MS4 Cam from Texas Speed Shop and a ASP Harmonic Balancer. Now I bought the the Texas Speed Shop Camshaft package that comes with a Texas Speed Hardened Chromoly Pushrods and Dual Valve Sprigs.. I will install those later..

MS4 CamShaft Package = $699.99

ASP Harmonic Balancer = $214.99

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/17.jpg
Okay lets get started on removing the old stuff. First on the list is the balancer. You will need a 1" socket to remove the bolt that holds it in place..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/18.jpg
A braker bar is a must when it comes to taking off this damn bolt..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/19.jpg
Again Advance Auto Parts come in handing when I needed to rent a tool.. I went there to pick up a Pulley puller. This tool is a must and really the only way you can actually get this dang pulley off the engine.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/20.jpg
Tool set up...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/21.jpg
The claw hooks grab the pulley and pulls it away from the engine.. As you begin to tightening the bolt it starts to get harder and harder to do.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/22.jpg
That is when a pole comes in handy...lol

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/23.jpg
You know you are doing it right when you start to see silver from behind the pulley.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/24.jpg
Just to give you an idea of the size difference between the ASP pulley and OEM pulley.. ASP gives you around a 15% more power, every bet counts..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/25.jpg
Next we can remove the timing chain cover.. This requires you to use a 10mm,, really easy..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/26.jpg
Bam!!, look at the LS6 oil pump and LS2 timing chain... Good stuff..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/27.jpg
Now we can remove the timing chain sprocket, Unbolt the 3 cam gear bolts and remove the gear, letting the chain droop down into the oil pan for now

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/28.jpg
Next is the retainer plate

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/29.jpg
Next you'll see a black/brown cam retainer plate behind the gear, held on by 4 10mm bolts. Unbolt and remove this too.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/30.jpg
remove, the bolts..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/31.jpg

Out with the old cam....

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/32.jpg
And in with the new.. The MS4 cam is a 239/242 .649"/.609" Camshaft.... Oh yeah...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/33.jpg
Now it is time to prep the new cam for install. Coat the whole thing with fresh motor oil, and transfer your 3 camgear bolts (or waterpump bolts if you were using those) to the end of the new cam so again you have a handle to grip onto.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/34.jpg
Now take your time installing the new cam, and keep on coating the cam with fresh oil as you go..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/35-1.jpg

Almost done,, the 3 camgear bolts come in handy towards the end when you don't have nothing to grab onto,, so def do this..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/36.jpg

Once in, re-install the cam retainer plate and its 4 10mm bolts. I usually put some locktite on the 4 bolts and the GM torque spec on them is 18lbft.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/37.jpg
Then install the timing gear, and torque spec on these is 18lbft as well.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/38.jpg
Now since the timing chain cover was off, I decided to spice it up some.. So I painted it a black crinkle. I think it turned out great.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/39.jpg
Now for the time being I used the OEM balancer bolt to install the new ASP balancer. Now the Crankshaft Balancer Bolt (Installation Pass-to Ensure the Balancer is Completely Installed) needs to be torqued to 240lbft. And then remove bolt and replace with an ARP balancer bolt and torque to 37lbft. I will do this later once tranny is installed.

Well hope you enjoyed this weeks post...

Total spent: $2,464.98

I'm a bit leery of using mobile1 as assembly lube, that's kinda why they make assembly lube. If you use today's synthetic oils in the fresh engine, they are so good at protecting that it won't let it break in properly and it could never seal or wear in with the lifters correct. I always always use base cheap oil or actual break in oil for first starting/500mile oil and only use assembly lube on the cam and rotating assembly bearings/etc, and just a skim at that. When you crank before firing, make sure you have oil pressure, then fire. If you have oil pressure through the filter and whatnot that means that the cam/etc will already be coated before it's fired. The assembly lube is also designed to dissipate in oil. Just how I do it, never had any issues, but have seen issues with using mobile1 too early.

Oh man never thought about that.. I just followed some of the info I got from LS1tech.com. They never stated any problems.. I will look out for that..

That is a crucial ass cam! Mine is a super baby cam in comparison, haha. Mine is only 225/225 and .510".

Should make for some awesome sexy popcorn idling.

hahaha yup going to sound nasty..

for what its worth royal_t, i talked to a friend of mine who's AERA certified (american engine rebuilders association) about the synthetic oil for break in debate. his opinion is that if the engine is made to run synthetic oil, like higher end and newer cars, then using the synthetic oil for break in is perfectly fine. as far as using oil as assembly lube, i forgot to ask him on that one. my opinion is use it as kansai drifter said. it dissolves in oil so its perfectly safe

engine oil is good for rebuilding, when the engine will
be immediately fired up within the day or 2 max.

engine lube is good when it will sit for a couple of days,
I used white assembly grease/lube on my lsx. sat in there for about 4 days.
Not ONE problem cranking it up, everything was properly lubricated after
it fired up first try.

While the issue is there, its extremely minor as long as everything is
lubricated well. However, unless the engine will start the same day..
I would stay away from just lubricating with only oil.

^^ I agree with you and that is why I am going to use the lube cause the engine is not going to be started for some time..

Thanks everyone for the kind words...they are a huge motivation to me and this is the main reason why I love building cars..

Anyways,, since it is about to be hump day (Wednesday for people that don't know). I had to get a workbench cause working on fold out tables is not cutting it for me...lol

STAGE 1: Phase 3 'rocker arms/valve springs/ head Install'

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/41.jpg

Beer of choice this week is DogFish Head again but their Raison D'Etre. A deep, mahogany Belgian-style brown ale brewed with beet sugar, raisins, and Belgian-style yeast.

Man I just love the after taste of this beer, def a good summer time beer..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/42.jpg

Okay what I have to install today is some, Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Chromoly Pushrods and Titanium Retainers that came with the Camshaft package I mentioned last week..Also ARP head studs, Comp Pro Rocker Arms and Comp Cam High Performance Valve Locks.

Comp Pro Rocker Arms: $300 (got from LS1tech.com)

Comp Cam High Performance Valve Locks: $31.99

ARP 12-point head studs: $279.99

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/43.jpg

First we have the Dual Valve Springs and Titanium Retainers...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/44.jpg

These things are sooo sick..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/45.jpg

First you have to place the bottom Retainers..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/46.jpg

Pretty straight forward on this part..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/47.jpg

Next is the Valve Seals.. Now to install these you will need a 12mm and a hammer. Tap, Tap, Tap, take your time and make sure they are straight. You don't want to F one of these up and have to go out and buy new ones..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/48.jpg

Seals all in place. Next reinstall the Valves

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/49.jpg

Bam!! Next are the Dual Springs

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/50.jpg

I bought some Comp Cam High Performance Valve Locks

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/51.jpg

Now you are going to use the same Valve Spring Compressor tool you rented from Advance Auto Parts to install them..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/52.jpg

Place the Spring over the valve and then the top Retainer. Compress the Spring with the tool and then insert the Valve locks. Slowly release the tool and bam you have money...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/53.jpg

All done with this head..On to the next..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/54.jpg

Nice and easy.. These things looks so damn good..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/55.jpg

Both heads are complete.. On to the next item at hand..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/56.jpg

Next we have the lifters and lifter try. Pretty simple install...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/57.jpg

Just place the roller lifters in the tray,, easy as it sounds..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/58.jpg

Now drop into place...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/59.jpg

Good to go...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/64.jpg

And use a 10mm and torque to 106 in-lb.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/60.jpg

Next we have the 12-point ARP head bolts

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/61.jpg

Comes with all the bolts to mount your heads to the block..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/62.jpg

First you will install all the bolts in their proper location and tighten with an allen wrench.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/63.jpg

Next install the head gasket. Mine came with my long block so I did not have to buy one.. It was brand new in the bag still.

http://www.ls1howto.com/howto/fbody/heads/day2/torquebolts.jpg

Next I placed the heads on the block. Then installed the ARP bolts. Now to torque these down I followed the pic above and torque all 10 15mm bolts to 22lb-ft.

Edit: Okay I was confusing some people about the torque specs on the ARP bolts. You just need to follow the ARP instructions that came with the box.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/65.jpg

Again it is a lot of work but worth it..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/66.jpg

Close up...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/67.jpg

Next are the Hardened Chromoly Pushrods

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/68.jpg

Texas Speed Shop knows their stuff and so glad they are in TX.. Good stuff..
To install the pushrods just drop them in...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/69.jpg

Next are Comp Pro Rocker Arms. I got these off of LS1tech..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/70.jpg

These things are so sick..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/71.jpg

They come with there own guide plates.. You just need to torque them down to 22lb-ft.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/72.jpg

Next install the rocker arms, and also torque them down to 22lb-ft

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/73.jpg

There you have it, all rocker arms installed, looks sick..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/74.jpg

Now I painted my Valve covers the same black crinkle.. I think it looks legit..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/75-1.jpg

Well folks there you have it. Heads all bolted up..

Total price so far: $3,076.96

lookin damn good man. it may be worth it to note that the head studs into the block dont need to be torqued too high. it does say in the packaging for them how tight, but i know when i did my buddy's sr it was pretty much hand tight plus a little for good measure.

other than that, looks like these ls motors go together pretty damn easy, can't wait to get my 6.0 to have some fun with! keep it up, cant wait til next week

There is in fact cam bearings on all gen IV gm style blocks, 4.8,5.3, 5.7, 6.0.
They are somewhat pressed in, and yes they are recommended to change
out when an aftermarket cam install is done.

They will not fall out loosely, use a slide hammer with a special EXACTLY sized
tool for the job to tap them out. Cam bearings are recommended to be
changed when the block is completely stripped down.

Those 806 heads are among the weakest flowing heads of the gen 4 series.
Try to find some 243 heads in the future for the most power, or go the 5.3
head route. Which ever you can find, both will bump your compression a bit.

Oh I did not use those torque specs.. I actually followed the ARP instructions that came with them.. Should have been clear with that.

And yup only 699 plus tax for the Cam, pushrods and dual valve springs.

STAGE 1: Phase 3 'Front Drive Assembly & Accessories'

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/765.jpg

Beer of choice this week is Fischer Blonde, a blonde ale with a baright gold in color, this beer displays unique savour with subtle fruity accents. Beer is imported from France. Also has a pretty cool bottle top. Has a pretty good taste could be better but not bad with a good burger..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/76.jpg

What we have to install today is a water pump with some AN fittings that I got from my good friend Stew, which also has a build thread going on with his LS1 S13 (check it out HERE (http://zilvia.net/f/chat/184391-my-ferrules-all-wrong-johny5-build-thread-08-ls1ls1ls1ls1.html)), ARP Water pump bolts, Alternator, KRC tension pulley and a KRC drift power steering pump. Nothing but the best for my babe..

Water Pump: $150.00

ARP Water Pump Bolts: $37.00

Alternator: $97.99

KRC idler tensioned is: $178.75

KRC Drift power steering pump: $460.57

KRC F-body pump bracket is: $68.75

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/77.jpg

Stew had a -16AN welded in for the thermostat, but I will be changing this to a -20AN..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/78.jpg

Here is a -20AN that I had welded for the inlet side..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/79.jpg

More AN fittings thanks to Stew, other inlet was welded shut,,

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/80.jpg

New Gaskets and ARP bolts

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/81.jpg

Bolt it up, and torque to 11 lb ft (First Pass) and 22 lb ft (Final Pass)

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/82.jpg

next is the alternator bracket

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/83.jpg

And the alternator its self..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/84.jpg

bolt it up

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/85.jpg

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/86.jpg

make sure you torque down

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/87.jpg

starting to come together

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/88.jpg

Next is the KRC goods,,

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/89.jpg

First up is the idler tension pulley.. KRC makes some nice products and would highly recommend them to any one.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/90.jpg

Mount up the bracket first and follow the instructions for torque specs.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/91.jpg

Already looks good.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/93.jpg

Then mount up the bracket for the pulley itself and again follow the KRC instructions.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/92.jpg

So pretty...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/945.jpg

Then mount up the pulley itself. In this pic I have not fully installed the center bearing all the way, but you get the idea..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/94.jpg

Perfect

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/95.jpg

Next is the KRC Drift power steering pump bracket

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/96.jpg

And the power steering pump itself too.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/97.jpg

The craftsmanship of this power steering pump is damn good

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/98.jpg

Comes with all the fittings you need.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/99.jpg

Mount up the bracket first, and be sure to follow the instructions.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/100.jpg

Then mount up the power steering pump to the bracket. Again follow instructions for torque specs..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/101.jpg

There you have it, almost looks like a complete motor. Coming together slowly but surely..

Total price so far: $4,070.02

Before going off and buying a ls6 valley cover, I would recommend this route.

Get some fuel line. T-off rear valve cover fittings to the front going into a Norris Motorsports filter catch can, get a NEW style pcv valve from GM. (orifice type) then straight into your intake. DONE. had no oil going in at ALL.

Or, you can take a different route, by venting your blowby gases.
up to you, i chose the above route because I liked to run a catch can.
Just make sure you get one that actually does its job and filters the vapor/oil.

Of course theres guys who spend extra and get the ls6 valley cover, which
is good/eliminates some hoses but unless you already have it. Its not really
cost effective. Good luck

Thanks bro,, it went pretty smooth for me.. what problems did you run into?

The wiring in my garage I guess isn't made to handle an air compressor, so it would flip the circuit every 30 seconds, and the compressor I had was a really small one so it was basically constantly on, so I'd get work done for a min and have to flip the circuit breaker and go back to working again.

It basically took about 3 times as long as it should have, haha. Glad to hear you didn't have stupid problems with yours!

Yeah motor is in the Z already, like I said before I am ahead of these build pics. Wanted to do it this way so everyone would not be waiting for parts to get here and updates on the build.. But I think I will catch up to where I am at now and then the waiting will start...lol But I will try and update every week.

Well got to this post early today, its a short one but its a good one... So enjoy:biggthumpup:

STAGE 1: Phase 4 'LS1 to LS6 PCV conversion'

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/102.jpg

Okay this weeks beer of choice is New Belgium Brewing 'Lips of Faith Series' 'Super Cru'. This beer is pretty much a hopped up Fat Tire with double the malt and hops; Add in crisp Asian Pears, which is a Belgian thing to do; and bring it to life with a Saison yeast. With a ABV of 10% it does get the job done:JAMIN:

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/103.jpg

Okay what we are installing today is a LS6 PCV system. You might be asking your self why do we need to change PCV systems. Well the reason we switched to a GM LS6 PCV system was to reduce oil consumption issues associated with the factory LS1PCV system.

I got the kit from Thunder Racing (http://www.thunderracing.com/shop-by/category/Cylinder-Heads-and-Valvetrain/PCV-System/Thunder-Racing-LS6-PCV-Conversion-Kit_613.html), it includes everything needed to do the conversion: LS6 Valley Cover, valley cover gasket, valley cover bolts, LS6 PCV Tube, and valve cover plugs.

Thunder Racing LS1 to LS6 PCV Conversion Kit : $169.99

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/104.jpg (http://http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/104.jpg)

This pic shows the difference in the to PCV systems. Bottom is the LS6 PCV system and the top is the factory LS1 PCV system. You can also see from this pic why some trimming is required.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/105.jpg

Start of by removing the old LS1 PCV system, I forgot to take pics of this stage, just thought it was straight forward enough. Next prep your area for cutting. Make sure you cover everything you can, use towels, blue painter tape every thing so no shavings get in the engine.

http://www.ls1howto.com/howto/geniii/ls6pcv/towels.jpg

Here is a better pic of the prep area taken from LS1Howto.com

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/106.jpg

This is the piece that we are going to trim down. We need to chop the wall off this block all the way down so that its even with the bottom of the pit. It may help for you to mark a line on the aluminum about 3/4" down so you know where to cut

http://www.ls1howto.com/howto/geniii/ls6pcv/dremel_cut.jpg

Here is a better pic of the target area, pic taken once again from LS1howto.com

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/108.jpg

Okay cut made. I just used my high power electric cutting wheel to cut this off.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/109.jpg

Another pic of the cut

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/110.jpg

Once you done cutting the piece off make sure you clean the area very well before installing the new LS6 PCV system. The new unit should just drop right into place. Torque all 10 bolts to 18 lb/ft. Next, hand thread in both knock sensors until they bottom out. Torque these to 11 lb/ft. Reconnect both wiring plugs, and slide the plastic connectors back in place.

Now there is more to the install but I have no need for it since I am going to route my PCV system to a Catch can later.

So there you have it nice and quick and easy..

Total price so far: $4,240.19

Well to keep things going just wanted to share with you guys what I just picked up..
Got this sick I-Phone-4 case the other day by id America (http://id-case.com/products-page/iphone-4/gasket-brushed-aluminum-case/). Its a head gasket, pretty sick design I must say.

The design of this case is by far well thought out.

Has a lot of padding in the back to protect your phone..
http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/IMG_3271.jpg

Comes with these screen and back protectors.. I personally hate theses things so I did not install them..

STAGE 1: Phase 5 'FAST 102 Intake/FAST 102 TB'

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/111.jpg

Okay beer of choice this week is Julius Echter 'Hefe Weisse' if you are looking for a good wheat beer then look no further.. I personally love hefeweizen type of beers and this one really hits the spot.. Hope you like.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/112.jpg

Okay what we have today to instill is a FAST 102 Intake with a FAST 102 TB, and a FAST fuel rail.. Now I bought this as a package deal on Texas Speed Shop, and yet again they do not disappoint.

FAST 102 Intake/TB and Fuel rail kit from Texas Speed Shop (http://www.texas-speed.com/p-679-fast-lsx-r-cathedral-102mm-intake-102mm-tb-combo.aspx): $1,653.98
(I added the Coolant pipes and plugs, fuel rail and gaskets)

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/113.jpg

Man I just love how the FAST 102 TB is packaged.. I felt like James Bond opening up this case. Its well protected and overall just impressed me..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/114.jpg

Now a lot of people might question the 102 Intake. Some say it does not give you any gains so why bother.. Well the main reason I bought this Intake was simply for my later plans for the motor. I do plan on storking this engine and running a twin turbo set up so this intake will def help me when I put down the big numbers. Got to plan ahead..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/115.jpg

And damn does it just not scream beast mode...lol

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/116.jpg

First thing to install is the new Coolant pipe for the front of the engine..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/117.jpg

pretty straight forward here, you just place it where the old coolant pipes went.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/118.jpg

Next is the Coolant plugs for the rear of the engine...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/119.jpg

Place both coolant plugs where they are suppose to be, and tighten down..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/120.jpg

Next is the FAST 102 Intake gaskets... love the orange

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/121.jpg

Place around every runner...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/122.jpg

Next install the intake, follow the FAST instructions. They state what torque specs and proper order to torque down..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/123.jpg

Next is the gasket for the FAST TB,,

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/124.jpg

Place the gasket where it needs to be...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/125.jpg

And then install this beastly TB,, man this thing is nasty

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/126.jpg

Almost complete.. Looks like an engine now..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/127.jpg

Next is the FAST fuel rails.. Now I don't think I am going to keep these so if some one wants them shoot me a PM and I will sell them to you.. Going to go with the FAST Billet Fuels instead..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/128.jpg

They come with spacers so you can run the factory LS1 injectors

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/129.jpg

Sorry for the tilt of the motor in this pic but you get the idea... Engine is pretty much complete just have to install a few things but this is what it will look like..

http://fatlace.com/lacedup/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/ls-620x413.jpg

Goodnight and sleep tight my lil engine..

What are the goals for the car? You've mentioned stroker, built motor, and twin turbo. I thought you were going for the drop in simplicity and power of a NA LSx.

Royal_T
08-28-2011, 06:59 PM
^^ I am thinking long term... knowing me I will want more power as like everyone does... This will be a couple of years before I go stoker but I am going to be running NA for a while, and then when I feel like I can Handle more power on the track I will make the switch..

The reason I choose the LS1 is cause of the reliability of the motor and instant torque, not because of the simplicity.. The VQ is not reliable by any means.

irritatedmax
08-28-2011, 09:20 PM
I meant simple in comparison to trying to boost the VQ and keep it reliable.

The extreme concave floating spoke design is a bit iffy to me as well, I bet it will look mean as fuck in pictures and sitting on them but that's gotta make the wheel heavy as shit. I could be wrong and they could be TE light.

Your motor is fucking crazy man, don't go broke building a 10 thousand dollar motor and then life comes up blah blah gotta sell the car because I spent too much tuning. Too many of these awesome threads end up like this.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/131.jpg

Happy Labor day guys/girls!!! So I thought I would do this quick update before I start BBQing.

Lets kick it off with the beer of the week, which is Magic Hat 'Summer: Wacko',, Great summer beer has a big malty aroma, a subdued hop bite and a clean, slightly sweet finish.. Def good with BBQs

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/132.jpg

Today's update is a small one. I am going to install my coil packs, spark plugs and wires.

MSD Plug Wires and NGK spark plugs: $79.99
Coils and bracket:$115.00

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/133.jpg

So I got the bracket and it was the wrong one. No problem, I'll just make new holes to mount the up. Also painted the bracket a gold finish..

mount up the coils and then install to the cover..

I think I am almost done with Stage 1 and stage 2 should be starting after next week with the removal of my motor. I hope I can hit 420hp or more.. we will see.. Also with LS motors we go by lbs for injectors.. Going to run a 42lbs factory is I think 28lbs..

Are you running stock 98 heads? If you are, 420 is a maybe, your fast 102 setup is what might make you get there.

I think I am almost done with Stage 1 and stage 2 should be starting after next week with the removal of my motor. I hope I can hit 420hp or more.. we will see.. Also with LS motors we go by lbs for injectors.. Going to run a 42lbs factory is I think 28lbs..

Oh ok, thanks for the info on the lbs I thought it was cc's as well. That seems like a good power goal I was thinking more than that. Cant wait to see it in the bay man gl

STAGE 1: Phase 7 'Sikky Heaven'

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/142.jpg

Okay so this week I decided to cover two beers due to it being Octoberfest season.. So for the next three updates I should have two beers posted up..

Up first is DogFish Head 'Punkin Ale.' Now this one is truly one of my favorites for the season due to its brown sugar, spices and real pumpkin added to the brew process.. Its a 7.0 ABV,, very good taste, This one might be hard to come by since it sales out quick and is only sold at certain spots.. So def pic it up..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/143.jpg

Next up is Samuel Adams 'Octoberfest'. This one goes great with BBQ in my opinion, a lot lighter then the DogFish Head. The camel and toffee really come out in this beer to me, which leaves a great after taste..

Enjoy!!

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/144.jpg

So what do we have for this week to install?? Just love coming home to some big packages that say "Sikky"

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/145.jpg

Here we have the Sikky LS1 350z swap kit, with their 1 7/8 long tube headers. If you do plan on doing an LS swap this should be the kit you want to pick up.. The quality of this kit is just top notch from the mounts to the oil pan it is all A+ in my book.. Pricey but worth it..

Kit comes with oil pan, motor mounts, remote mount oil filter, Trans mount, drive shaft and Billet short shifter (which is on back order so still waiting for mine)

The headers are extra but well worth it in my opinion.

Sikky 350z LS1 Swap kit: $3,000.00 (this is with the headers and shipping)

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/146.jpg

Just look how nice these mounts are, all CNC machined.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/147.jpg

Okay first we have to prep the oil pan for install

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/148.jpg

Just look at the quality of this oil pan, love how they itched in the Sikky logo..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/149.jpg

Sexy *** welds

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/150.jpg

Sikky labels all there bags so you know where what goes, which is good. They have instructions on there website if you need it..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/151.jpg

These fittings go in the oil pan for the remote mount oil filter..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/152.jpg

Teflon tape is your friend here...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/153.jpg

Take your time when installing the fittings, they wont screw all the way in so don't worry if you have some space..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/154.jpg

Next we have to remove the old LS oil pan..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/155.jpg

Pretty straight forward

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/156.jpg

Here is the factory LS oil pick up....

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/157.jpg

Another pic of how the factory LS oil pick up is mounted..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/158.jpg

Here is a quick comparison to the factory LS oil pick up to the new Sikky oil pick up tube. See how much smaller the Sikky one is?

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/159.jpg

Install the new Sikky oil pick up tube, using factory torque specs..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/160.jpg

Mounting spot..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/161.jpg

Another pic of the oil pick up tube..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/162.jpg

Now place the gasket in place and then install the new Sikky oil pan.... In this pic you will see that you have to use those allen screws for the front due to space.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/163.jpg

Looking good on the engine ...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/164.jpg

Next is the motor mounts and header mock up.. The motor mounts come with their bolts. Make sure to look at the mounts to see which side they are mounted on.. There should be a P for passenger or D for driver side... Then torque down to LS specs..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/165.jpg

A shoot of the engine from behind.. Damn it looks good with those headers

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/166.jpg

Pretty much looks like a complete motor. Need little things here and there but you get the idea.

Total price so far: $9,089.16

Looking awesome, hopefully you don't have clearance issues with the long tubes (since your car is so low). I am running a modified shorty header because I would have flattened the bottom half of those long tubes on my car. I am sure Zs have more room for it since they are V6 out of the box, haha.

Going to have to check that out..

Lookin good bro!! What's up with the coating on the headers though? Looks like it's coming off.

Its just paint, but Sikky does sell a ceramic coating one, with Vband already welded to it..

Don't worry I do plan on wrapping these headers after I weld on my QTP set up.. This was just a mock up to see how the headers looked on the engine..

and trust me bro once car is finish I do plan on hitting must TX drift events... But I don't know if it will be finish by the end of the year.. Money does not grow on trees..

STAGE 2: Phase 1 'Dropping Engine'

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/167.jpg

So like I said last week, here are two more Octoberfest beers. We have UFO Pumpkin, which is really good in my opinion. I like their Hefeweizen so this one did not disappoint at all.Easy drinking with a lingering pumpkin aftertaste on the back of the tongue so good..

Next we have Magic Hat "HEX", I just love Magic Hat's marketing.. Well I really like this beer, love that they used Toffee and Carmel gives a good taste but finishes with a smoky taste.. Really good...

Okay before we jump into the build this is a short one due to it only referring to pulling the motor and shipping it off, but it is an important one.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/168.jpg

Make sure you have a good engine hoist. I started by removing the tranny first and all the exhaust from the car.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/169.jpg

After I did that I started to remove all the radiator support stuff with the radiator. I then proceeded to remove or disconnect all the wires. I also just snapped/cut all hoses I was not going to use, including power steering hose, fuel and so on.. Reason for this is that I plan to replace all of these with AN hoses anyway...... And one last thing say goodbye to AC........lol

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/170.jpg

And she is out..... It is really easy to remove the VQ motor, it was only me doing it and it took me two days, due to work... So don't be scared to do it your self...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/171.jpg

Already have a buyer for the engine/tranny so I have to crate them up for shipping...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/172.jpg

Sat like this for a couple of days do to me not having my wood yet...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/173.jpg

Finally got my wood and had every thing crated up and secured... Truck/shipping guy arrived and it was time to say goodbye to this VQ motor

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/174.jpg

going up.....

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/175.jpg

Goodbye,.,., we had fun but it was time to move on....

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/176.jpg

Here is what the bay looks like with out nothing in it... I also removed my windshield wipers and almost every clip..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/177.jpg

Before the LS1 can put up his "there is no place like home" frame. I will be doing a list of things to make his home pretty.. For one I will be removing the ABS system and redoing my brake lines... I might also cover up all holes I am not going to use... Oh and lets not forget about the main ingredient,, my tube chassis...

So since we did not spend no money this week,, I think we are doing good...lol

STAGE 3: Phase 1 'LS1 Mock Up'

Okay we are back with another update.. And this time with out any money spent, well sort of..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/178.jpg

Lets start of this week with one of the two beers for Octoberfest month. We have Buffalo Bill's Brewery "American Pumpkin ale" Man oh man can you taste the spices in this thing.. The nutmeg and cinnamon really pop out to you when you try this beer, its kind of a good/bad thing you might say. After a couple of beers the spices come on to strong for me..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/179.jpg

Next we have Saint Arnold Brewing, straight from TX (you know I had to rep). This is their 'Oktoberfest beer'. One word describes this beer "Smooth,"a full bodied, malty, slightly sweet beer celebrating the Autumn harvest. This rich beer has a round malt flavor and an above average alcohol content perfect for a cool fall evening. A good pick up.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/180.jpg

Got me a little helper for today's engine drop, My lil Bro cam by to help out..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/181.jpg

So in the last post someone mention if I got a new bumper, and the answer is yes. Needed to change it up a little, but I will say this. If I am not happy how this bumper looks when all said and done, I will def change it back to my old style.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/182.jpg

I like this bumper cause it flows really nice, reminds me of the stock bumper. I also really like the CF lip it as, but sad to say I will not be using this cause it will be broken to **** after one track day. So instead I will make a custom lip out of plywood, just how us TX boys like them.. Check out my boy Stew's plywood lip..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/183.jpg

Just to see what the bumper looks like mocked up with out engine in.. Thoughts?

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/184.jpg

BAM!!!!! engine is in son....

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/185.jpg

The install went really smooth, mounts lined up perfect...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/186.jpg

To me it looks like this engine belongs in a Z...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/187.jpg

You can say it was meant to be, I guess..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/188.jpg

Front shot of the motor

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/189.jpg

Totally different from a VQ motor..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/190.jpg

I know people wanted to know how low this LS sat compared to a VQ, well here it is...

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/191.jpg

Sits right above the sway bar.. I would like it to sit a little here in my book, just cause I ride so low.. We will see what I can do..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/192.jpg

Plenty of clearance. Oh by the way I am selling this FAST fuel rail so let me know if you are interested..

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/193.jpg

Now I did run into a little problem. The passenger side coil was hitting the fire wall. I know people were saying make sure you have the right mounts on the right side, but mind you I had this motor in the bay before today. So I will check it out again when it comes out the car again. If not it is an easy fix.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/194.jpg

Replaced to front support to see about clearance, but it really does not matter cause this is getting replaced with a front tube chassis :JAMIN:

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/195.jpg

Here is my clearance without the Rad/Fans....

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/196.jpg

Placed the new front bumper on just to get an idea what it will look like.. Going to be a beast.

http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq139/Royal_T_album/197.jpg

That's it for today, Thanks to my Bro for all the help. Next stage is going to be an exciting one and I know you guys will like..

Looking good Royal! The KRC stuff is pretty pimp. I have been working with the guy over there on an alternator bracket to work with the stock LS water pump or something that bolts to the passenger head. He said he has something that's not listed on their site or anywhere else for that matter. He's going to email me tomorrow a couple options. I can PM you if you are interested?

You can move the coilpacks where ever your heart desires. Hell, you can put them inside the car if you want. Some will locate them down on a frame rail if they want them tucked and out of sight. I actually prefer the look of them on the motor, but moved them to the upper edge of the valve cover so you could see more of the valve cover.

Just like Broadfield said, I can relocate them.. But like he said I like them the way they are. So I could notch that part in, no biggie.

Thanks man! Although our taste differs when it comes to alcohol. I can't stand beer of any sort... I actually hate it. I'm a single malt Scotch drinker:yum:

Nice, I used to be the same way, nothing but scotch and cognacs for me.. Then one of my Friends got me into beers, and then I started drinking all types of crafted beers and then I got hooked..

Oh yes please believe I will be at most if not all MW events once this thing is done.

Not trying to dis your sale Broadfield but I'm just saying; 06-07's are the best. LBZ motor/6-speed Allison.

There's always something better... just depends on how much you want to spend. The 2003 would save some coin over an '07 and still be one hell of a truck.

Range Rover tow vehicle...

Boss status for a toe vehicle (And excellent choices as well)...

Royal_T
09-30-2011, 12:06 PM
Well those would be a boss tow vehicle but to me a Boss setup would be a 06 7" lift Duramax crew cab truck. Custom wheel mounts in the bed for my wheels. This is what I plan to buy and build..
