Looking at an S13 with a turbo'd SR20DE. It's currently running a GT35R at 13psi on a basic SAFC tune.

Wondering if this is a recipe for disaster. Some dude I know put it in my head that this is a bad idea, but I'm quite sure Sentra folk run very similar setups all day long. Regardless, I'd rather get some confirmation.

I've never really heard of anyone doing this (why would you?), which is one of the reasons I am kind of drawn to this car.

Yeah but were you running a GT35R at 13 PSI of boost? If it was a T25/28 then that doesnt mean anything

With that turbo at that boost there are no means of properly controlling timing, Which will lead to knock especially since its Higher compression

Well, I'd knock it down to 8-10 psi to be safe.

I guess I was wondering about the viability of it or if anyone else has done this. Looks like that is the case.

Still baffling as to why you would swap in an NA SR to turbo it.. There's the element of eliminating a tiny bit of turbo lag, but that alone does not seem to justify it. Interesting stuff..

Cheaper how? You'll be rebuilding it before long and wish you went DET from the beginning...

I've seen it done a few times. Both guys said there setups were fine till they started upping the boost. So i really wouldn't want to go higher then 7 psi just to be super safe haha

I will be doing something similar in the next month. I'm picking up an S15 SR20DE on which I will be doing a regular OE rebuild to refresh the motor nothing fancy. I will be running a S13 KA Wiring and ECU /w Tunercode. Turbo will be the GSP 18G, STI Sidefeed injectors and Z32 MAF. With local availability of E85 and competent tuner I'm hoping to make 300+whp out of this. We shall see.

An 18g would make over 300 on pump gas on a DE-T, and will easily on a DE

8 psi on a GT35 isnt not the same on 8 psi on a T25.
