front cross member question

ok, since this doesn't really belong in any category I am wondering whats the reason people use the RB25 front cross member when they swap an RB25 into the 240sx, is it because the engine sits too far forward or close to the firewall if the stock cross member is used or is their some other reason, I am asking this not because I am swapping an RB25 into an S chassis but because I am swapping it into another chassis and have to custom mount the cross member so if I don't have to use the RB cross member then I will try to find a 240sx one
