Stupid exhaust question

Ok, I never thought about this until now....I just bought an aftermarket exhaust with 3" inch piping. Will it bolt right up to the stock catalytic convertor??...cause I'm pretty sure the OEM cat isn't 3", so I'm guessing that the inlet for the exhaust is the same size as the cat's outlet and they'll bolt up. Is this correct?

Nah, I know what you're saying. On my cat (really a "dummy cat") the i.d. of the flanges is 2-3/4" so it isn't that much different. What's really sad it taking the dummy cat off and seeing how small the o.e. pipe is before it.

....but anyway, yeah, they are different but it bolts right up. Don't even worry about it.
