So I thought S13 and S14 diff's were interchangable...

I ordered an S13 VLSD from a guy for my S14 and when looking at it it looks different.

The one on my car has two bolts on the back, and the new one I got has four... WTF?

the one with 4 bolts is from an s13.
all you need to do is take the rear cover from your s14 diff and bolt it on in place of the 4 bolt cover. (they are interchangeable)
voila.

Swap the back housing and make sure both diffs are 6 bolt outputs orelse you need different drive shafts:hsdance:

You will also need shorter bolts on the two attachment points by the pinion since there are no isolators.

when using s13 diff it has no bushing so use s13 bolts for where it bolts upwards. for s14 use s14 bolts if using j30 or s14 z32 that have the bushings

Huh? So use the bolts that are bolting the old one up? Those are the only ones I have...

By where the driveshaft bolts up, two of them, one on each side. Get some s13 bolts from a junkyard, just do it right the first time.

BTW that s13 cover is higher capacity than the open diff ones. Sell it on here haha.

Yes, and j30 and z32 and r32/33/34 with all perspective axles of course.
