What do you think? I know steel would retain heat longer, but I can find so many good deals on SS than aluminum. Actually, I can't find any aluminum that isn't like 40 schedule.

steel would be a good choice if you were welding the piping yourself, althougth it needs a special type of wire i beleive, aluminum welding would most likeley require you to take it somewhere, because most regular people dont have a welder that can do aluminum

Welding aluminium is a pain in the ass.

Go stainless steel. :)

My thoughts, as narrow minded as they may be are;

1. aluminum is lighter

2. aluminum cools quicker

hence the use of aluminum piping....

But, do whatever

its alot lighter, but it also dents alot easier, so be careful

Yes aluminum is a pain in the ass to weld but it has better cooling effects. Every degree you can drop the temp helps so why would you want to risk higher temps? Because you cant easily find aluminum? dont sell yourself short or take the easyway out, put in the bit of effort and it will pay off with power.
