Haha. Save gas? You will not save gas with a 240.
I bought my 92 for $1350, clean title with 154k miles. Repairing it yourself can throw you in a money pit. The steering rack might be damaged, new tie rod, ball joint, shocks and struts, hub bearing, not to mention the control arm and subframe. And if you really want to do the work, do you think the bolting holes will line up?
I just say look for another car in better shape, but if you really want to go through with it and have the tools then good luck.
And yeah, search next time.

NOT WORTH $1300.

Silvia is rite. For all you know, when the previous owner wrecked the car, he could have bent the frame. Now you may get it fixed, but it will never track straight down the road for a daily. Plus your from the west coast. I guarrantee someone has one forsale in much better condition and for cheaper. Keep looking.

Oh and why do you want "1992" 240sx specifically? 91-94 are the same damn thing. Youll never know the difference. And you can buy a 91-94 bumper and fender extensions for a 89-90 and have the same car.

1300 is basically a money pit its not even a rolling shell which you can buy one that the body is in great condition for $800 and then buy a motor and trans like a good running ka and regasket it for probably 500 and just put in car and drive if said shell comes with the driveshaft and rearend. But yeah better of looking for a better car.
