pulled my head for various reasons and decided to replace the stock head gasket and im curious what have others used to clean the residue left behind from the stock gasket! I did a lil research and read to use 240grit bristle discs but i cant seem to find any!

Thanks in advanced

I used a razor blade on mine. Didn't resurface or anything when I used my metal head gasket. Only resurfaced the head and I used copper spray

the head shouldnt matter since you need to send it to a machine shop to be milled anyway

I probably should have stated that i live in BFE and access to shops sucks plus i work in the oil field so im only home for a week every 2 weeks so i don't have a lot time! I know there is nothing wrong with just removing the old gasket cleaning up and putting back on cause i have done it before but it was on steel block and steel head so i just took a roloc pad to it no harm done! But with this being all aluminum i don't wanna take a chance putting a nik in it!

uhhh you need to mill the head, Anytime you pull off a head that been heat cycled and driven for a while is gonna be warped.

So if you dont wanna have to do this again Id advise you to get the head milled
