idk how to explain it, but it is pretty loud in comparison to most. I freakin LOVE the sound, and the response is amazing. The only reason I want a type R is because I just got a 35R that will be pushing 30lbs in a 500whp drag car and I dont think the type S will like it. If I was 400whp or less I would stay type S for sure.

Well I have a Type R with the stiffer spring for high boost applications. If you could like find a vid or something of what the type s sounds like I might consider trading. Mine is brand new like 10miles on it.

here is a vid of one on an evo... sounds sweet as shit, everyone loves the sound of a type S. Im kinda pissed they stopped making them. YouTube - ‪Mitsubishi Evolution 8 MR Greddy Type-S BOV‬‏ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G81tXXd9rMA)

why are you looking to get rid of the type r?

I'm not really, but I'm not shooting for 400hp, so it really won't release its true sound " if that makes any sense" on a 12psi T28

you can get a softer spring and tune it.
im going to run the type r on my sr20 with evo9 turbo. ill have DD bost like 11 psi and higher boost will be set to 20 psi for now til I get 740 them 32 psi. Ive wanted this BOV for a long time. Ill retune it many times. type r is best bov for high hp cars.

yeah I know what you mean and no way will that open a type R lol. I ran my type S on an S14 blacktop at 14psi on a 28r and it worked perfect.PM me on how you want to do this
