Hello, I have an S14 SR20DET that runs really well in my S14. However; when idling along time the motor won't be able to rev past 1,500-2,000rpm. Once i shut off the car and turn it back on it runs fine. The car drives really healthy and boosts very strong. Car tends to backfire a lot and seems like it's running rich. Only one time the car died out when i was pulling out in 1st and i couldn't get it to start back up until i waited close to 10mins. It started up one crack and drove like normal.

Could this be the crank angle sensor (CAS)? or is this a ECU malfunction?

So only main problem i have is: when idling for a good 7-8mins it won't be able to rev past 1,500-2,000rpm, but shut off the car and turn it back on and it'll forget all it's problems.

Thanks for the help in advance. Finally go boost and im very impressed with the SR20DET.

Does it break up at all when attempting to rev? Does it just stay at a steady 2k?

nope.. gotta shut off the engine. than turn it back on to be all cherry again. yeah it bounces off 2k like a cough type. you hear my intake just making the sucking sound than cough. i thought it was MAF but i tested 2 different ones and i had the same issue.
