Question: I am upgrading cams and head gasket and am wondering what I should do about injectors...

- Should I just buy some side feed 740cc injectors and run the stock rail
- Should I consider buying a JWT top feed fuel rail with STi top feed injectors (will they work?)

There's a reputable local company that sells injectors on an exchange basis, which makes it very affordable. They offer them with the documentation for the flow matching and modifications...

Injectors : Kito Auto Sport Online Store (http://www.kitoautosport.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_13&zenid=af6t13b1j2dkj812pbtgdh5ou0)

I'd just do 740s in a stock rail, less shit to change, less headache, no real benefit of going top feed.

Also, you may want to invest in some better cams, or cam gears. BC cams are generally off the centerline compared to the cam card, so they need to be degreed in to make the most power, and with the money/time your spending on cam gears and degreeing them in you could probably just get some good JWT or Tomei cams.

I got a deal on the head with Greddy springs, BC cams & retainers, valve job all done already. I was planning on JWT, Tomei or HKS stage 2s but the deal on the head was too good to pass up.

Thanks for responding to the thread. I am guessing that most people would say to stay with the stock rail and buy some flow matched 740 side mounts...

I'd order Mazworx's headstud kit. It's still ARP material, just made to their length specs for the RWD SR20DET & are only a bit more the ARP's kit. Mazworx's ones seat fully into the block. Check out their website for a comparasion.

I am running Tomei 740s and they seem to work just fine.

Get 740 cc injectors. I was maxing out my 525 cc STi sidefeeds pretty easily.

My friend took his sr20det too Jeff Evans he had nismo 740's and jim wolf c1 cams. His injectors where maxed out at 380rwhp / 330tq. Car is sick nasty fast, but Jeff Evans said top feed injectors is more efficient an that he could squese more power out if he had top feed. Plus they are cheaper ( the injectors them self not so much converting over the fuel rail ).

If your not planning on going super high power like over 400rwhp then I would just stay side feed. Hope this helps!:wavey:

go for 740's. maybe one day when you decide to go larger you don't needa get another set of injectors.

I just bought an HKS top feed rail from another board member and am going to get some 740 or 800 top feeds. I know that the top feed rail isn't necessary, but I don't want to buy side feeds now and have to upgrade to top feeds later; I would rather buy the better unit now and not have to replace it later.

Thank you all for your responses, and I will definitely be buying the Mazworks head stud kit...thank you for that feedback as well.
