Hello all,

I did a KA swap in my 90 HB to a 92 engine and have been having idle problems since. The problem is when the car is warmed up it tends to do an idle dance from about 2000rpms and will go low then sometimes save itself or die. when i start it up and its cold, it will begin idle between 1000rpms and 2000rpms and after 5min or so even out to 1000rpms. i have switched the ECU out which helped a bit but did not fix the dieing issue. I had a mechanic do some engine work that fixed the timing chain and set the distibutor, but this is still happening. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like the Idle Air Control Valve.

Take it out and clean it and see if it helps

clean your MAF

+1 if u clean it and still run into the same problem check the connection. Put some di-electric grease in there. If it still continues the maf could be faulty. If u need a great working maf I have one I will sell to you for cheap.
