Dunno about filter but Royal Purple is one of the best oils. It's also become more popular lately so you should be able to find it at advance auto or even some Walmarts.

but honestly, its a KA, not really a race motor. I just get whats on sale at Kragens, Pepboys, Autozone, Walmart ect.

My KA's get Rotella and FRAM filters from Walmart. Best oil for the buck I think. Don't need anything special unless you really need it.
