is it possible to remove and install carpet without removing the dash and heater core?

yes. you have to slice the carpet where it goes beneath the radio console though.....
and pull. its neater and looks better afterward if you just remove the 6 (iirc) bolts holding the dash on. I mean it's not like you don't already have half of the interior out any way.

good luck

False. You can remove the carpet it just takes some work. IE: removing the dash or cutting a slit in the carpet.

op as far as the heater core is concerned i don't remember. I can tell you that it is still straight forward, and reasonably quick.:2f2f:

I know you can, I was being sarcastic due to his spelling of the header of the thread. I've never heard of a S414. Lol.

lol ok I got you. no harm

OP: if your S414 got flooded out you may be better off taking everything out just to ensure that electrical is ok. I'm sure that water didn't come up past the seats but moisture is a bitch. good luck, keep us updated.
