diff ?

If the clip that holds the output flange n the diff comes off what are the smptoms. car goes but its like something broke in the rearend slips when i drive like only one wheels powering. really dont know. any sug? thanks

Best bet is to take it out and have a look. Either way, you have to remove your diff.

It is extremely dangerous to be driving around with a car that potentially has something floating around in the diff.

It could cause your rear end to lock up.

i know that but is poss for the vlsd to just stop locking. or maybe i just overheated it. just was wondering some thing to check before pulling it. the car drives but slips when i hold the brakes and gas it driveline spins.

VLSD's are pretty weak. Combine not being all that great with old age, it leaves you with a diff that responds much like an open diff.
