View Full Version : sr20det miss and runs bad after warm HELP

First off thanks for reading and trying to help out.

motor is sr20det top mount turbo z32 maf central 20 ecu tune with safc2 on top.
The car has ran perfect for years and never had a problem. A week ago we went to sliding it around and boom it started missing bad limped it home and I unpluged the maf put it back and it ran fine I thought it was maf related for sure
about a week later the hesitation started again so I puled the maf wiring apart and checked every wire close nothing was wrong so I cut out the extra wire and thought I fixed the problem well my wife that drives the car to and from work every day says it only starts to hesitate when hot. I then knew for sure it was the maf so I change the maf sensor and drove around boosting hard it runs great until it heats up then back to the same shit. I then started to try and figure out the issue. I have 2 sr cars so I figured this will be a piece of cake. I have changed the maf, cts, coils, safc2, plugs, and did what the manual states for hesitation at warm temp nothing fixed the problem. I also checked fuel pressure its cool at 35 psi idle at any rev it jumps right to 40 and seems perfect. Again it runs fine at cold temp only about 2 mins after warming up will it start to bogg out. What I have not changed is the cas, ECU which I am leaning to think this is my problem but why only when hot? injectors, TPS, and iacv. If any one has seen this same problem please try and help out. I am no noob to sr20s and have 3 so please only respond if you really think you can help I have spoken to 2 so called sr20det specialist and they both said the same shit (never seen an sr that ran bad after warming up) so they were no help. I forgot to list the set up central 20 ecu stock tune on it 550cc venom injectors garrett t60-1 top mount turbo z32 maf with a safc2 tuned to 301hp to the wheels again its ran great for years like this and the wide band o2 really doesnt jump around much when it starts to miss but the plugs do white out after it starts to miss

ECU Water temp sensor, change it. Top of the thermostat housing, you have 2 sensors. One is a 1 wire, the other is a 2 wire, replace the 2 wire sensor with a new one.

No I all ready changed the water temp sensor I labled it cts coolint temp sensor thanks but not the problem I'm going to change the ecu today and hope that works

Shit guys sorry i didnt respond it was a bad wire on one injector plug i swapped the plug and it fixed the problem. funny thing is when i found it i was just pulling the wire harness and going nuts out of the blue the car started running fine i then pen pointed the plug and walla. So i guess losing your cool sometimes pays off.
