s13 sr maf on s14 zenki engine...

alright so it looks like when my s14 sr20det was shipped to me, the maf they gave me was an s13 maf 22680-52F00. its currently running like crap at the moment and of course when i unplugged the maf the engine idles better concluding that my maf is most likely bad. but is it bad.. or is it because its the wrong one. does any one have any personal experience with swapping these with stock ecu and not just some one that "heard" that you can or cannot. thanks.

The S13 MAF shouldn't even connect to an S14 harness.

But you need the correct MAF for the Engine Set, or use an SAFC

even if you wired it up correctly , the airflow signal values are computed differently therefore your problem is the wrong maf.

you could use that maf if you got yourself an safc without problem.

basically with the safc, the s13 maf and computer use and read a hotwire 6 signal

the s14 maf and computer use and read a hotwire 5 signal

in order to use that maf with an safc you would set it as a hotwire sensor with a "6" (s13) signal going IN to the safc, and a "5" (s14) signal going OUT to the s14 sr computer.

in short, hotwire 6 in 5 out.

if you got an safc and a z32 maf, it would be hotwire 2 in 5 out.

alright thanks thats what i thought. another thing that im a little confused about is that im not 100% sure its a zenki. it has stud/nut valve cover fasteners, fins on the front of the head, square maf plug(which could just be the wrong harness). here's a picture if it helps at all.

pretty sure that is a kouki sr. zenkis dont have the fins

as far as maf goes, s14 sr whether kouki or zenki it's the same. your best bet right now would be a z32 maf and something to tune with.

my stock s14 maf died on me, my car is a zenki, i managed to get a kouki maf and an s13 maf, can you tell me which in and out on the safc2 i shud use?

and which is a better maf to use, this is only a bandaid fix until my power fc comes.
