I'm having starting issues, is there a way to tell if the ecu is bad....? can you blow an ecu somehow... ? can they go bad just randomly?

I heard that if you accidentally kick it the case can be dented and short stuff out.

other than that I dunno...

You're going to have to kick it really hard in order bend the cover in.

The easiest way to tell if the ecu is burnt is to open it. If there's a break in the contacts you can trace the problem to whether or not you have a grounding problem somewhere else. An ecu doesn't necessarily break by itself.

Another sign would be water marks. Some ecu's are left in junkyards for a while and will get very wet in the rain. If that's the case, have it replaced by your importer.
