alright so heres the story.

i parked the car at a buddies house and when i fired it up to drive somewhere it just ran like absolute crap, idle like s***, no power etc...

ecu is throwing code 33 (O2 sensor code) so i decided to toss in the new sensor and hook up my AEM UEGO wideband gauge at the same time.

I've checked quite a few different things and i'm pretty sure its still the o2 sensor (I reset the ecu and its still throwing the code). It also gave me a code 45 ( leaky injector) when it first started messing up, but i pulled the fuel rail, no leaks.

I guess the UEGO system might not be hooked up right but i dont know how. power and ground are fine and i'm running the white wire from the gauge to pin 19 on my ecu connector. I have tried all 5 modes on the gauge, no difference.

anyone know whats up? thanks in advance

I need to get this b**** running again so i can get emmisions done and go ka-t...

heres a link to the video, help much appreciated.

I'm also pretty sure that the issue is the o2 sensor because it runs exactly the same with it disconnected. I just can't figure out whats not hooked up right.

well to update, i tossed in a new oem style universal sensor and hooked up all the stock wiring and I got nothing... still runs the same when disconnected too.

Shouldn't having the o2 sensor disconnected affect how it runs?

I also think I've found a dead injector, so I'll be replacing that once i get to the junk yard. Would this alone cause my problem? I tossed one of my new 550s in just to see what it would do but it didn't really seem to help anything. its definitely the injector though, I swapped it with the one next to it and pulling the harness on that one still did nothing...

yes, video looks very typical ka running on 3 cylinders. car generally runs rough as shit, sounds like a subaru, no power, idles poorly and if you are getting unburnt fuel in the cylinder, gas smell out the exhaust + wispy smoke. check oil for gas contamination.

alright thanks, I'm goin to the junkyard tomorow to pull an injector or two. And i'll check the oil for gas. thanks, you think the injector is my only problem? ran just fine before this.

yeah that looks like more then an o2 sensor.

if the engine shakes like that and has no power then it could be running on 3 cylinders .. like stated a few posts above.

if you swap over the injectors ( make sure they are stock ones ) check your connectors they can be dirty which is causing a bad connection.

Disconnect the suspected injector. if it idles the same it's that injector. Run the test first before spending the money. =)

yup ran the test then swapped it with the injector next to it to make sure it was definitely the injector. first injector i pulled out a sentra in the junk yard cracked the metal cap that held the injectors in on the 240, think they might be slightly different. went back to the junk yard today and pulled some out of a g20 infiniti with those caps.

I'll be installing that shit later tonight, will report back with results...

so i put the injector in. still ran the same but this time it was the #3 injector i could unplug and it wouldnt do anything.

im thinking bad ecu. sound right to you guys?

I'll probly be picking one up tomorrow

check ya plugs to the one with the leaky injector will be soaked

Do a power balance test to see how each cylinder is running. If you don't know what that is essentially you are pulling the clips off one injector at a time and record what the rpm's drop to. Do so on each injector, then move on and do the same on the spark plugs. This will narrow down if its fuel/spark and what cylinder it is. Then you can try swapping everything around but you may as well verify exactly what cylinder is the problem and then go from there. No need to pull injectors and run the risk of damaging the o-rings possibly causing more leaky injectors.

Also I don't have an AEM Uego but is the white wire the analog signal wire? I know on most wide bands the white wire is the wideband signal and the grey wire is the analog narrowband signal. You can't run a wideband signal to a stock ECU sine the voltage on a wideband signal is different. Not that I see that causing your engine to run that bad but may be something else to look at as well.
