now as you all know USDM turn signals only have 1 bulb and socket and the JDM 180sx CHUKI turn signal has 2 bulbs and sockets

im going to take you through (step by step) how to wire your USDM turn signal harness to the JDM amber/clear turn signals

first the wiring diagram
Solid Green Wire (running light)
Green w/ Yellow Stripe Wire (blinker circuit)
Black Wire (ground)
Red Wire (power-running light)

here is the USDM signal

here is the JDM signal (i used the D-Max signals instead of the amber/clear signals)

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu214/earthquake_sub/IMG_0973.jpg

the first step is find a socket that will fit the position light hole (the smaller hole) for this i used the side marker sockets from a 93 altima

now cut and strip the solid green wire on the stock bulb, and the red wire on the smaller socket

the green wire that goes to bulb will not be use so you can cap that off

now you can connect the red wire to the solid green wire that goes to the harness plug

you can now splice the black wire on the smaller bulb into the black wire on the USDM harness

then wrap it in electrical tape to prevent moisture from getting in and the end product should look like this

now you can install it on the car!!!!

I'll chime in here - well gyno's and pat's are really good on 9th street - but my favorite place here is Jim's on South Street ;) And I've lived here for 25 years lol

My comments to make this job easier.

For the big bulb holder, you can use just about any Nissan bulb holder that comes in the front bumper of just about any Nissan (e.g. Maxima, Sentra, S13/S14, Pulsar, etc.).

Single filament 2 wire or dual filament 3 wire bulb holders will work just fine.

The poster elected to use a 3 wire bulb holder and this works. If you can't find a 3 wire, a 2 wire holder will work as well.

If given the choice, I would use a 2 wire one because replacement bulbs are cheaper and it's a cleaner install.

If you use the 3 wire one, make sure you wire the turn signal to the big filament on the bulb. Otherwise your turn signal will be really dim.

On the bulb itself, it doesn't matter which wire you hook up. As long as one wire gets power and the other wire gets ground it will work.

Good luck.

old-ish thread bumped for some reason? but unrelated pats and ginos are terrible chubbies in roxborough or fruscoes in the north east are much better

I know this is a super old post but can I use my original blinker socket from the "one socket" blinker for the new 2 socket one? so i only have to buy the side marker light socket? thanks to anyone who could answer! and also if I get a 2 wire socket I just wire red to green "running light" wire and the other side to ground?
