s14 speaker removal of Tweaters

Of done as much reaseaqch as I can I cant find any info on removing the pillars that cover the stock tweaters lociated above the windows on each side. Has anyone ever done this, and hae any suggestoins on removeing the pillar. :confused:

when you sit down in the seat and look up to the left, you can see where the plastic stops or edges out for the tweeter pillar. you can pull from there and will hear the pops from the fasteners, there are about 4. carefully pull from there to the windsheild and the whole pillar will come off

i am not sure of other tweeters, but i use some cheap power acoustic tweets and they fit perfect, with crossovers in the dash. only costed me $25 and sound great.

Some aftermarket tweeters will be too big for that spot.

If you bought components - its ideal to place the tweeter closest to the speaker. I'm placing mine on the cloth area - ill try finding a picture later.

Heres the photo I was talking about:

-The "red dot" is the ideal spot to put a tweeter from my understanding.

popey is right, tweeter placement is much more crucial than woofer, as bass is omnidirectional, whereas the ear can pinpoint where the highs are comin from

No biggie, let us know how things go. I'm still patiently waiting for my last amp to come in - an oldschool Rockford Fosgate 400a4 amp to finish off my speaker setup. I bought Alpine Type R Components for the front, and 2ways for the back. I also have a Alpine Type R sub & oldschool Rockford fosgate 500a2 amp - I haven't put those in yet either.

I dont know too much about Audio stuff, but I do know it is time for a set of front X-Plod speakers and looking for the right tweater for my new setup
