So I have tried and tried and before you talk s%@t i remind you, I did try. I have a manual sohc and am intersted in a HUD. So far i Know that I need the HUD, the diggital cluster, the harnes connector with the two connections. My questions are if i need those pieces from the same engine and/or tranny type? Also woud i be able to connect my HUD without a diggital cluster. Any help is appriciated.

Not sure if you still need this info. As for transmission type it doesnt matter. As for the Motor if you are running a KA24e with sr you need the dohc speedometer. Pretty much it is plug and play. Disconnect the guage cluster from harness way in the back of the dash plug in new digital harness into digital cluster and hook up the HUD. The HUD needs to be plugged into the digital cluster as it is tied into it. Hope this helps.

I currently have a sohc and would like to in the future swap out for a dohc. Will any digital cluster be compatible with both engine types and give proper speed and rpm readings. And thanks 007 for your advise.

So would any diggital cluster be compatible with a sohc and a dohc motor.

Only difference in hud clusters between the sohc and dohc is the tachometer. You can swap in your analog dohc dach with some minor trimming into an sohc hud tach, but the lighting will suck at night. If you plan on doing a dohc swap, just find a dohc hud cluster to make it easier on yourself.
