Ok well let me star why im starting this thread. I went ahead and did the zenki to kouki converion and well I thought it didnt iluminate well so I went ahead and bought an H1 HID kit. I did not rewire anything like its been said here or in other forums since well my lights turn on I said o well. My question is does that rewiring have to be done necessary because my HId lights are flackering a little and I thought maybe its because not enought ground or something, to add I bought an H1 hid kit to go with that they said its better if you put one since it stops flickerig but I can see it. Or is it just my cheap Hid kit thats wrong because it has warranty. Thanks to all for reading hopefully you can help me out.:wiggle:

and isint that for a retro fit anyways. I have stock projectors.

here's the last hint I'll give you
look up the headlamp wiring diagram of a 95-96 S14 and compare them to the 97-98 ones.

Hey manonegra so do you think my hid ballast is wrong cause its flickering because they mentioned about the wireing harness with relay and I have it. Im getting kind of confused here cause the major thing they say is because of the high beam. Please help me with a little more detail since you know alot, since you did it in one of your cars. GRACIAS

a stereo installation place would be a better choice
also there's an extra relay on the 97-98 fuse box that allows you
to run lows and highs lamps simultaneously
you'll need to wire that in if you ever decide to do HIDs.


I would also power the headlights directly off the battery through a relay(s).
It's a much cleaner set up.

If that doesn't do it then, yeah, you may have bad parts

I would run both lights off independent relays instead of routing current through the headlight switch. 15A is too much current and can burn out the combo switch.
