i guess i should introduce my self first, my name is Ted, and i'm 23 years old, from murfreesboro tn, and my car is a s13 coupe, white, with a s14 sr20. i'v always been a huge fan of the old emanage blue piggy backs. i like the third party support and the modifications that can be done to them to add aditional features.

mine currently has the emanage gold mod done, ignition harness, injector harness, and a boost sensor, with a innovate lc-1 hooked up and data logging properly. i also have simon's emm software, emanage toolz and innovates logworks.

just so everyone knows, be leary about the lc1 and logworks because it will not track rpm. data logging a/f without rpm is like masturbation with an open hand.

so, i was looking around the other day at a couple of different topics at the same time. the emanage injector harness has six wires coming from it, for an sr20det only four are needed leaving two extra. at first i looked into using the two extra wires to drive two additional injectors with the additional injector map and purchasing r34 injectors to use on my sr. additional injectors are sexy, but unnecessary and not safe.

then i also considered the possibility of using them to drive the current four injectors after the factory rev limiter or even the speed cut. (or sending a speed signal to override the speed cut)

lastly i considered using the additional injector map, setting the duty cycle to 100%, wireing it to a relay from the ignition signal wire, and using it as an ignition cut rev limiter. at first i considered wireing the relay into the ground wire for the coil packs, but then i figured charge/drain on the coils would damage something. i would like the coils to keep there charge, but not fire.

since the additional injector map can be set to 100% at any rpm, you could set it to cut on at super low rpms and put out a steady signal.

lastly, i made a sketch of the relay system you would need to use to make a one time clutch switch.

with my system the process would work something like: start car, turn on launch control, press clutch in (1 of 2 led lights), press a push button (2 of 2 led lights), press gas, rpm is limited to what ever its set at in the emanage map, let off clutch (led's cut off), every time you shift the first light will show, but it will not limit the rpms until the push button is pressed while the clutch is pressed.

if someone could suggest a good way to cut the ignition signal let me know.

You could probly cut the ignition by cutting the CAS signal wire to the coils

i dunno, i dont want the ecu to start acting funny when the signal gets all chopped up, thats why i just wanted to isolate something farther away from the ecu.

i was reading around about a fuel cut that cuts fuel to individual injectors after a cycle is complete, it rotates the cylinders and is two step. something like that would be nice. but oh well.

this will have to wait as im in the middle of a t3/t04b thing but as soon as that gets done, i'll do this for sure.

sorry to go a bit off topic, but do you have anymore info on the mods you have to your e-manage? all the stuff i'm finding is really really old.

certainly, there are two or three different ways to get the emanage to do baisically one thing, that is to log a wide band 02 sensor. the purpose of the blue to gold mod is just that, it add's the function to log o2 signal, but will NOT auto tune, only the emanage ultimate will do that.

when you can data log a o2 sensor signal and compare it to rpm you can easly go back and edit a fuel map to change any spots it runs lean or rich in. i suggest starting with too much fuel and working backwards if you are going to attempt this.

the blue to gold mod requires a firm ware upgrade as well as some hardware modification, basically you have to solder 2 very small parts and put a jumper wire in.

if you didn't want to go the route of having to modify your hardware you could use emanage toolz to do the same thing.

to use these you simply follow these directions:
Emanage Wideband O2-logging by Immo - NewCelica.org Forum (http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?t=187913)

there is also a link to download the software on that site.

the output is a excel data file that will list all the measurable parameters of the emanage and will also include the wideband signal. here is a sample in the emanage rtd log folder: http://immo.rizing.nl/sample.xls

last but not least there is simon's software, which is more or less exactly the same as the emanage toolz.

all your firm ware, software, and upgrades can be downloaded here as well as directions on how to make your own link cable (costs about 10 bucks): Diytuning, The heart of the auto industry (http://www.diytuning.com/)

as well as documents about upgrading.

simon's software and most other info can be found here in the files section:
emanage : 1st Greddy E-manage Blue Mailing list... (http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/emanage/)

other then the blue to gold mod, an injector harness, ignition harness and a boost sensor that is all i have done to my emanage, which is alot, if i could get rid of the factory rev limiter and speed cut i would never want/need a stand alone.

here is all the software i've accumulated running at the same time, ignore the black guages as that is innovate's logworks2 and has nothing to do with the emanage. notice how my real time data display says a/f ratio, that is all you get from the blue to gold mod.
surprisingly all this stuff runs fine on windows 7 ultimate.
