Im putting a Greddy front mount on soon and im trying to figure out what hotpipe to buy. There are many available and in different sizes. Im running the stock turbo right now and am going to be running a Tomei turbo mani, Greddy intake manifold, Tomei elbow, boost will be 10-11 psi with an hks actuator in the future. How does the hotpipe work as far as size goes? The bigger the better? Or are they designed certain sizes for a reason. Enjuku sells one that i believe is 2.5 inch, FR sport has one that i believe is 2.25 and the Greddy hotpipe is 2 inches.

What would be the best? What would the different sizes affect?

What turbo do you see yourself using in 6 months from now? 1 year? What's your power goal?

All of them will work, but 2.25 and 2.5 are the most common.

the rule i go with is keep the hot pipe the same size as the turbo compressor housing outlet
and keep the cold pipe the same size as ur throttle body

if u go to big with ur piping ur just going to cause unwanted pressure drop which will result in lag

Too big of a pipe will cause too much pressure drop into the system. If you're planning on running a big ass turbo later down the road, the drop will be negligible and you'll probably make up for it in the upper range.

Understood, Im thinking of staying with the stock turbo for awhile and if needed ill upgrade to the sexy disco potato device. Ill probably be going with the 2.25" Hotpipe even though the turbo compressor outlet is only 2"

Is the turbo compressor outlet 2" on all SRs no matter what the year?
