Bought a Exedy lightweight flywheel for my S14 Zenki SR motor and a local shop Illegal Garage custom clutch kit.

Here's how I got stuck...

I did the rotating till I found the best fitment. Only two bolts fit. 7 out 9 bolt holes are off like about 2mm alignment.

Bented pressure plate housing?

I think you got the wrong application. I'm not sure how close the KA resembles that but maybe they accidentally gave you the wrong one? Goodluck.

install your dowel pins and try again!

I double checked on the Exedy flywheel with the stock flywheel came off from my SR motor. All the bolt holes are exactly the same.

Here's a KA flywheel I found. It uses only 6 flywheel bolts and got 6 pressure plate bolt holes.

The pressure plate look exactly the same as the stock one as well.

Do you mean the three little pins that came with the Exedy flywheel? I'm assuming they are for the extra three small holes on the flywheel. However, I don't think they do any help because the rest of the bolt holes are ~2mm off and the pressure plate housing is rock hard.

those dowel pins help sit it straight on there, that could be your reason why it doesnt fit like cotbu said. also did you use the clutch alignment tool?

Try bolting the pressure plate to the stock flywheel. Then you will at least know whether the problem is the flywheel or the pressure plate.

I had already tried comparing the stock flywheel, and no, it looks exactly like the exedy flywheel, doesn't fit.

"I double checked on the Exedy flywheel with the stock flywheel came off from my SR motor. All the bolt holes are exactly the same."

As for the three "dowel pins", i assume it is for aligning the pressure; however, the pressure plate just does not fit.

Art didn't sell you a KA clutch.

He hasn't had a KA for like 8 years.

No, the guy that sold the clutch to you.

No, the guy that sold the clutch to you.

The guy is called Kazuo in Zilvia. Sounds like you know him personally?
I'm going to bring this in to Max tomorow, i will see if he could get this defect fixed.

I never expect this could happen. I got stuck in the middle of my swap since I sold my stock clutch...

Problem solved!

took it to Max today. ending up that might be a rb pressure plate.
Luckily, his builder has another SR dual diaphragm pressure plate. one for one, and now it magically sits right in!

Cool, good news. Enjoy the clutch. I know you will.

You could have just as easily drilled the holes out each 1mm. I've had to do that before on over the counter clutch kits for various cars.

Yea, I thought of doing that. Think of how much trouble it would save. But I didn't do that after I see how people blew their clutch and cut through the bell housing.

That was completely installation error. Drilling the holes out a hair does nothing.
